Kindness resides in all of us. Our purpose is to increase awareness about this natural human interaction and help create the conditions for kindness to flourish in the school environment, workplaces, homes and communities across Canada. Being kind has a ripple effect, and that benefit spreads to positively affect the giver, receiver and the observer. Scientific research demonstrates that kindness
transforms lives, and is effective for addressing problems such as bullying in schools, presenteeism and absenteeism in the work place, and mental health and well-being. Scientific studies reveal that kindness is physiologically necessary to live a full, productive and happy life. Kind Canada Généreux:
• Aims to be the national champion for the advancement of kindness in Canada, focusing on the health and well being benefits of the practice of kindness.
• Will cultivate partnerships with Boards of Education to have kindness programs be a fundamental part of the school experience.
• Kind Canada Généreux will actively promote volunteerism and charitable giving for the benefit of all Canadians.
• Will connect individuals and programs to inspire purposeful acts of kindness everyday.
• Will share resources, information and tools that foster acts of kindness and spread the positive benefits of kindness.
• Will establish a National Kindness Week to activate greater community engagement and participation.
• Will support kindness organizations in Canada.
• Will proudly join with other countries dedicated to kindness, through the World Kindness Movement, to share the kindness being done around the world.
