The Quinte Model Train Show in Belleville was fun, but not incident free.
Here are 2 derailments of note.
1 & 2 – Setting up a 60 car intermodal train can take up more than 1 siding in the yard.
Although not usually in this fashion.
3 – Crane crash! Making sure the wreck crane is on site early.

Our next show is the Quinte Model Train Show held at the Centennial Secondary School, 160 Palmer Road, in Belleville. The show is Saturday, March 28, from 10am to 4pm, and Sunday, March 29, from 10am to 3:30pm. Drive to Belleville. Come for the train show. Drop by to see us. We may have something new!!?!

At present, the club plans to participate in 5 train shows.
Many questions.
Will a new member join the club?
Will the club unveil a new module, or 2 or 3?
Will anyone say “That’s a-maze-in module”?
Will the 2 corner modules dwell another year in this club member’s basement?
Will there be a quiz at the end of the year?
Puzzled? Intrigued? Have questions of your own?

Our next setup is on October 18 & 19, 2025 at Galerie Aylmer, 141 Rue Principale, Gatineau. This is part of the Capital Region Model Railway Tour and sharing space with the Steampunk show. Come and see us.

Great weekend enjoyed by all at Exporail!
Nice layouts inside. A few changes with items displayed outside.
As a setup we were having fewer issues than usual…
until someone noticed and happened to mention it.
This is what followed.

Right. We’ve seen the Canadian sleeping on its right side.
Not to be outdone. Freight cars can do it too.

Exporail is our next setup. A train show at a train museum. Can’t do much better than this. That’s at the Canadian Train Museum at St-Constant, QC on Aug 23 & 24. Come see us. Use it as an excuse to visit the museum.

If you were in the Belleville train show area this weekend, or not, you may have missed the 4 major train accidents on the Ottawa Valley N-Trak layout. By chance your trusty untrained reporter was there. Available are images of three(3) of the accidents, taken using aerial cellphone photography.
Injuries were reported. One one sixtieth(1/160) of the crew’s egos have been damaged.
A preliminary investigation has been done. Operator distraction was deemed as the cause.
Further “training” has been recommended.

Our next show is the Quinte’s 28th Annual Model Railway Show. This show is held on March 22 & 23 at Centennial Secondary School, 160 Palmer Road, Belleville. Show hours are Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 10am-3:30pm. Admission is $6.00 at the door, children (under 12) free. Driving by Belleville, or not, come and see us.
