Take a look at the last aircraft in our lineup from COPA 2026 Fly-In, Splash-In and AGM! Paul took this fascinating aircraft on a short flight to Orillia from Muskoka, Ontario and like all aircraft, it comes with a great story. The plane is for sale and has some neat features!

Thank you to all those who enthusiastically participated in our plane tours. We love seeing the joy and excitement of the GA community!

We are on the look out for GA pilots interested in participating in a research study on go-around decision-making and safety culture!

Researchers at Imperial College London, in collaboration with Carleton University, are investigating how safety culture in Canadian GA shapes pilot decision-making regarding go-arounds during approach and landing.

Participants will take part in a remote interview to explore experiences and perceptions of go-around decision-making and safety culture in Canadian GA.

You can participate if you:

• Hold a valid Canadian pilot licence or permit
• Have at least one hour of GA flight time
• Are 18 years of age or older
• Are affiliated with Canadian GA operations

Contact researcher Kai Yang at [email protected] if you are interested in taking part in the study!

Jordan Hipson is the third recipient of this year's COPA's Advanced Flight Training Scholarship! Awarded to pilots pursuing a commercial license, various endorsements or ratings for pilots who already have a PPL, Jordan is currently working toward his Commercial Pilot Licence moving one step closer to achieving his lifelong dream of becoming a professional pilot.

Jordan is based at Annapolis Valley Flight Training Centre in Nova Scotia whose passion for aviation is matched by an entrepreneurial spirit. He has owned and operated one of Nova Scotia's leading vacation rental management companies, gaining experience in leadership, operations, and customer service. After earning his Private Pilot Licence, Jordan successfully transitioned his business to new ownership in 2026 to pursue flying full-time.

Jordan is an active volunteer with Hope for Wildlife, where he serves as a Rescue Team Coordinator, helping coordinate the rescue and transport of injured and orphaned wildlife across Nova Scotia. He supports marketing and community engagement efforts with Air Show Atlantic, helping to inspire the next generation of aviators.

We are committed to helping aviators take off, with more than $33,000 awarded annually to support flight training across Canada.

Opportunities to apply for COPA scholarships start in December 2026. Start by visiting copanational.org to see if you will be eligible.

Congratulations, Jordan!
