Just a few days left!

"From Nonna's Recipes to Food 4.0" is happening this Wednesday, June 17th, from 1PM to 5PM at Sala San Marco, 215 Preston St, Ottawa.

We have a fantastic group of speakers lined up, covering everything from food innovation and sustainability to AI, finance and food science, and they will all sit down together for a lively panel discussion afterward. Expect real conversations, different perspectives, and probably a few surprises.

And here's some exciting news: Les Fermes Lufa will be there with a tasting kiosk! Lufa grows vegetables across six urban farms in Montreal and works with hundreds of Quebec producers to bring fresh, local, responsible produce to thousands of households. Come taste what the future of food looks (and tastes) like. ๐ŸŒฑ

If you have not grabbed your spot yet, now is the time, spots are limited!

Meet another panelist.

We are pleased to introduce Winston Chin, MBA, FICB, President & CEO of Holistic Wealth Management and one of the speakers joining us at "From Nonna's Recipes to Food 4.0" on June 17th.

Winston brings something rare to this conversation: thirty years of leadership experience spanning finance, technology, AI, IoT, manufacturing, biotechnology and food technology, across markets in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He does not just understand the food tech landscape from the outside. He is building it from the inside.

As executive partner and co-owner of Kwik Chef Inc. and its sister companies in Italy, he is directly involved in developing advanced self-heating food solutions and next-generation convenience technologies, backed by 31 global patents. It is exactly the kind of innovation this event is designed to explore.

Prior to his entrepreneurial career, Winston spent over 24 years at the National Bank of Canada, including as Vice President, and has since advised public and private companies on everything from mergers and acquisitions to international expansion and AI integration.

He is also fluent in English, French, Chinese and Italian, which may make him uniquely qualified to navigate a Canadian-Italian food technology event. ๐Ÿ˜„

Meet another of our panelists.

We are delighted to welcome Jaqueline Gilmara Barboza Januรกrio, Assistant Professor of Agri-Food Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Montrรฉal, to the panel at From Nonna's Recipes to Food 4.0 on June 17th.

Jaqueline's research sits at one of the most exciting frontiers in food science today: turning agri-food by-products into something valuable. Through fermentation technologies, bioactive compound extraction and the development of novel food products, her work is redefining what we consider waste and what we consider an ingredient.

Her approach consistently bridges the lab and the market, with a focus on sustainable, industrially relevant solutions for the agri-food sector. And her research does not just stay on paper. It ends up on shelves. Her work contributed to the development of a maple wine now commercialized under the QUร‰BECOL brand by Distillerie du Granit, a beautiful example of science meeting Canadian terroir.

At a conference exploring how technology is reshaping the food industry from farm to table, Jaqueline brings the academic rigour and real-world impact that every good panel needs.

Meet our panel moderator.

A great panel is only as good as the person guiding it. We are pleased to introduce Walter Knitl, President of AIoT Canada and founder and CEO of Praxiem, who will be moderating the panel discussion at From Nonna's Recipes to Food 4.0 on June 17th.

Walter brings a rare combination of deep technical knowledge and seasoned stage presence to the role. As President of AIoT Canada, he leads the strategic direction of Canada's premier association for the fusion of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.

Through Praxiem, he advises organizations on IoT strategy, product management and commercialization, with a sharp eye for where technology meets market reality.
He has co-developed and presented IoT workshops, spoken at numerous industry events, and produced and hosted conferences. In other words, he knows how to keep a room engaged and a conversation on track.

Before his entrepreneurial career, Walter built extensive experience in telecommunications at major international companies, spanning hardware and software R&D, product management, business development and standards development. That breadth gives him the ability to connect the dots across industries and disciplines, exactly what a good moderator needs.

With five panelists covering sustainability, AI, food engineering, fintech and agri-food innovation, Walter will have plenty to work with. We are confident he will make the most of it.

Meet another panelist.

We are proud to welcome Jรฉrรฉmie Farret, CTO and VP Actionable Intelligence at Inmind Technologies Inc, and CEO and CTO of its subsidiary Mind in a Box, to the panel at From Nonna's Recipes to Food 4.0 on June 17th.

Jรฉrรฉmie is a systems architect with 30 years of experience across some of the most demanding technology sectors in the world: transportation, medical imaging, banking, cybersecurity and agri-food. An early adopter of AI since the late 1990s, long before it became a boardroom buzzword, he has led multiple Scale AI projects and spoken at international stages including World Summit AI, ASPAI and ITSec.

His current work sits at the intersection of sovereign AI, critical infrastructure and applied intelligence. Through Mind in a Box, he develops eco-responsible DataOps and MLOps solutions serving clients across three continents.

What makes Jรฉrรฉmie's perspective particularly valuable for this conversation is that he does not talk about AI in theory. He builds it, deploys it and measures its impact across industries, including agri-food. That is exactly the kind of grounded, practical voice this panel needs.
