Indigenous + Diasporic Friendship Festival

Indigenous + Diasporic Friendship Festival A bi-yearly Ottawa-based festival that focuses on the education and celebration of Indigenous cultures in Canada and around the world.

Made up of members from both Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, the International Indigenous Festival is a festival focusing on community involvement and outreach and also welcoming people from different International Indigenous cultures to Canada. Every year we will focus on our invited guests by giving them venues to express their culture to a Canadian audience, such as with our inaugura

l festival Mana Māori. Through this, we hope to help strengthen international partnerships between Indigenous cultures and peoples in Canada. Maintaining a constant emphasis on the importance of traditions and culture in modern times, this year we want to bring a part of the Māori culture to Canada, portraying both traditional and contemporary performances, exhibits and other activities; showing how traditions can flourish with modern times during our inaugural event, and especially for our future annual events. Our motto: celebrate and educate. For a sneak peak at our upcoming festival: https://twitter.com/ManaMaoriFest
