The MNO invites Métis youth ages 11 to 14 to join Shrinking Sun, the second session in the 2026 Métis Youth Virtual Camp Series!

Hosted by the MNO’s Culture and Way of Life and Early Learning and Child Care teams, this online camp offers youth a chance to explore Métis history and culture while learning hands-on food preservation skills.

Participants will receive a kit with most of the materials needed for the session. Some additional supplies will need to be purchased by families, with a stipend provided after the camp to help cover costs.

Help little learners build curiosity, connection, and confidence through time spent on the land.
Toddlers & Land-Based Learning is a virtual workshop exploring play schemas, child development, and ways to create meaningful outdoor learning opportunities for toddlers.

Participants will learn how land-based learning can support curiosity, connection to the natural world, and positive mental health. Participants will also receive a free copy of The Art of Land-Based Learning by Sophie Anne Edwards, while supplies last.

For nearly 200 years, Labatte House has stood at Thunder Beach. Built in 1834 by Louis-George Labatte and his family, it is the oldest known surviving historic Métis home in Ontario, a remarkable testament to the enduring history and heritage of the Métis people in the Georgian Bay region.

Now, the Métis Nation of Ontario has acquired this treasured piece of history and is relocating it to a permanent new home within Tiny Township, helping preserve its legacy for generations to come.

Join us to celebrate the arrival of Labatte House at its new home, an important milestone in preserving the history of the Georgian Bay Métis Community.
