"The integration of psychologists into primary care settings will help address the critical gaps in Canada’s health care system. Integrated primary care has been found to increase access to mental and behavioural health services, reduce health care costs and improve patient outcomes. This approach targets individuals managing chronic illnesses, co-occurring mental and physical concerns and unidentified mental health problems and results in a greater standard of care across all patients."
