Hope you had a restful Thanksgiving weekend. πŸ‚

What if your next opportunity wasn't only about growing your own career, but also helping another woman grow hers? πŸ’œ

At NB2PW, we've seen one conversation turn into a collaboration, one introduction open a door, and a group of women with a shared purpose get a lot done together.

We're still welcoming expressions of interest for our Emerging Leadership Team. We're looking for women who:
✨ Care about supporting Black women in Ottawa
✨ Enjoy working with others and sharing ideas
✨ Can give a little time, consistently
✨ Want to grow their skills and their network

You don't need all the answers or years of leadership experience.

How to get involved:
1️⃣ Message us the word TEAM, or email [email protected]
2️⃣ Tell us a little about yourself and what interests you
3️⃣ We'll reach out to start the conversation

Know someone who'd be great? Please share this with her. Sometimes a personal invitation is all it takes. 🌱

Every woman brings something to the table. What's yours? ✨

Happy Thanksgiving long weekend, Ottawa! πŸ‚ If you get a quiet moment with your coffee, scroll through this one.

Are you the creative one who loves making content? The friend who brings everyone together? The one who makes every newcomer feel welcome? The relationship-builder, the researcher, or the organized one in the group chat?

There's a place for you on our Emerging Leadership Team:
🎨 Marketing & Communications
πŸŽ‰ Events & Programs
πŸ€— Community & Membership
🀝 Partnerships & Sponsorship
πŸ’° Funding & Grants
πŸ’» Digital & Administration

You don't need experience in every area, and we know life is busy. Most roles take 3–5 hours a week: closer to 3 in quieter weeks, and up to 5 when we're preparing for an event. Clear responsibilities mean nobody has to do everything.

πŸ‘‡ Comment the role that sounds most like you. Not sure? Message us TEAM and let's chat.

Know a woman who'd be great at one of these? Tag her below!

You don't need to have it all figured out to make a difference. πŸ’œ

Maybe you're a recent grad looking for real experience.
Maybe you're a professional who wants to give back beyond your 9 to 5.
Maybe you're an entrepreneur who loves supporting other women.
Or maybe you've wanted to get involved in your community but haven't found the right fit yet.

This could be it.

We're welcoming 5–6 Black women in Ottawa to join the NB2PW Emerging Leadership Team. Bring your ideas and your willingness to learn. You'll be supported and mentored by women who've been doing this work for years.

Ladies, let's talk about community. πŸ’¬

As Black women juggling careers, businesses, families and everything in between, the people around us make a real difference.

Sometimes community is someone who simply gets it. Sometimes it's the introduction that leads to your next opportunity, the advice you needed that week, or the woman who shows up to support your business.

That's what we want NB2PW to keep being. And we want to build it with you, so we're asking:

What would you love to see more of from NB2PW?
A. Networking 🀝
B. Career development & mentorship πŸ’Ό
C. Business growth resources πŸ“ˆ
D. Friendship & social time πŸ’œ
Or tell us something else!

Comment your letter below. We read every answer, and your ideas will help shape what we plan this fall.

Hello again, NB2PW family! πŸ’œ We're back.

It's been quiet around here since June, and we hope your summer gave you some rest (and that back-to-school season has been kind to those of you with little ones).

We took the summer to step back, listen and think carefully about what NB2PW should look like next. We want this network to keep creating real, lasting impact for Black women in business and careers here in Ottawa.

One thing became very clear: we need more women at the table.

So this fall is about reconnecting with familiar faces, welcoming new ones, and inviting more of you to help shape what comes next. Over the next couple of weeks we'll share how you can get involved, whether that's coming out to connect or joining the team behind the scenes.

Whether you've been to our events, supported us from afar, or just found us today, we're really glad you're here.

πŸ’¬ Tell us in the comments: how was your summer? And what are you hoping for as we head into the last stretch of the year?
