The Pop Up Museum travelled to Brockville for their banquet. One Beaver wanted to see the 'pretty cape" on someone tall. Thank you Giles for modelling. Another youth favourite.

My Favourite Artifact continues. A Cub Scout thought this carved wolf was "really, really special".

To answer a question that was posed by youth member: Yes, "my favourite artifact" series will continue. We have a lot more artifacts chosen by the youth to feature, We still have lots of treasures we have photographed for the series but our focus right now is the Pop up Museum and the pack up .

To our Scouting Friends and Followers:

As of July 1, 2026, the Scouts Canada National Museum will be closed until our new location can be found.
The volunteer staff will be focused on sorting and packing all the books, documents and displays so everything can be relocated to proper storage or our new home, whichever comes first. The Pop-up Museum is still operational and can be booked through our page or by our email at [email protected].
The Radio Team will also be operational in the field at events and can be booked as well.
We will continue to answer emails and queries as we are able, but we cannot accept new donations of Scouting memorabilia or host in house tours.

Another successful Doors Open Ottawa! 174 people visited the Museum. We had visitors from Barry Ontario, Montreal, and Toronto along with lots of Ottawa and area visitors. Families with younger children participated in the "Beaver Scavenger Hunt"; lots of laughter.

We had a visitor looking for information on her Grandparent who attended the Coronation of King George V in 1911. We have a display on the Scouting Adventure just four years after its Baden-Powell started the movement.

Another visitor wanted to show his children the badges he worked on as Cub. His children were amazed at the 'Olde" program badges.

A special visitor came to see the displays on the Canadian Jamboree in 1953 and the World Jamboree in 1955. He had been at both as a Scout.

A good Scouting weekend.

My New favourite artifact: A pristine bar of soap from CJ81 donated by a member who was a Scout at that CJ. Come to Doors Open Ottawa: It is on display in the CJ Cabinet.

Scouter David F. has selected log books as his "Favourite Artifact". The museum has many interesting log books- This is from the 1953 Canadian Jamboree.
