Say yes to more ice time. Because every shift can build confidence.

Every time a child steps onto the ice, they have a chance to learn something new. About teamwork. About perseverance. About themselves.

But for many Ottawa families, the cost of sports and recreation puts those opportunities out of reach. Christie Lake Kids removes those barriers by offering free programs, including equipment.
Now, through our Say Yes to More Kids campaign, we’re raising funds to create 300 additional program spots, giving more children and youth the chance to participate.
Help us say yes to more ice time, more confidence and more kids.

Donate today. Your yes can help more kids get on the ice.

What a great start to our STAR programs! 💙

Last week, we welcomed kids back to all 14 of our program sites. From cooking together and learning new skills to getting out on the basketball court and trying aikido, it was great to see our participants jumping right in, making friends, trying new things, and having fun along the way.

We’re so excited for all that’s ahead this year and incredibly grateful to our amazing volunteers and staff for creating spaces where kids can learn, connect, and just be kids.

Meet Paul McCarney, Community Builder and Chair of the Christie Lake Kids’ Say Yes to More Kids! campaign.

For more than 15 years, Paul has been a dedicated supporter of Christie Lake Kids. He understands the difference our programs can make in a child’s life and why access matters.

Today, he’s helping champion our goal of creating 300 more program spaces so more children and youth from low-income families in Ottawa can access the programs, experiences and opportunities that help them grow, connect and thrive.

Because hockey isn’t just about shooting a puck. Art isn’t just about picking up a paintbrush. And learning to cook isn’t just about following a recipe.

Each of those is a chance for a kid to learn, belong, and discover potential. And while potential is everywhere, access isn’t always. When you give to our Say Yes to More Kids campaign, you’ll help us open up 300 more program spots for deserving kids in the coming year.

You’ll be saying yes to removing more barriers.
You’ll be saying yes to kids discovering their potential.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Christie Lake Kids join Canadians in reflecting on the history and ongoing legacy of residential schools.

This day is an opportunity to pause, listen, learn, and reflect while recognizing that the work of reconciliation is ongoing. As a community, we are committed to continuing to learn, building understanding, and creating spaces where every child and young person feels welcomed, supported, and valued.

Every Child Matters. 🧡
