The Dominion of Canada R***e Association is proud to announce that Avtar Nanrey of Brampton, Ontario, is the 2026 Canadian Fullbore National Champion!

In an extraordinary achievement, Avtar has won both the prestigious H.E. Governor General’s Prize and the Canadian Gold Cross (Grand Aggregate) at the 142nd Canadian Fullbore National Championship.

🏆 Governor General’s Prize - 1st Place
🥇 Canadian Gold Cross - Grand Aggregate — 691.65
🇨🇦 Only the 2nd Canadian - to win both in the same competition

Avtar’s performance in the Governor General’s Prize was exceptional, dropping only one point.

The championship was held at CFB Borden from August 18-23, following the Ontario Provincial R***e Championship from August 15-17. Across the eight-day program.

Avtar also won the prestigious Lt. Governor’s Prize at the Ontario Provincial Championship.

The international team matches saw Great Britain R***e Team's complete a clean sweep, winning the America Team Match, Commonwealth Team Match and Canada Match.

Founded in 1868, the DCRA is proud to be part of a Canadian sporting tradition spanning more than 150 years. Avtar’s achievement adds another remarkable chapter to that history.

The DCRA Council is seeking a volunteer to step into the role of Membership Committee Chair. This is a key position that directly supports the strength, growth, and long-term sustainability of our association.

The Membership Committee plays a central role in shaping how the DCRA serves its members both current and future. As Chair, you would help guide membership policy, ensure our records and categories remain effective, and support efforts to attract new members while keeping our existing members engaged and valued.

Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and reviewing membership requirements and categories
- Recommending annual membership fees and benefits
- Maintaining affiliate and conjoint PRA membership records
- Supporting regular communication with members through newsletters and social media
- Helping develop programs that recognize and honour deserving members, athletes, officers, and council members

This role is ideal for someone who cares about the health of the organization, enjoys thoughtful planning, and wants to make a meaningful contribution behind the scenes. Council support is available, and you will not be expected to do everything alone—the committee structure is there to help.
