Kayaking for Cancer is a non-profit group consisting of volunteers who organize fundraising events in support of the Canadian Cancer Society and its research to find a cure for cancer. Every August, kayakers paddle the 202 km length of the Rideau Canal from Kingston to Ottawa in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. To date K4C has raised over $800,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. For more information visit www.kayakingforcancer.com

DAY 8 - 8/16/26 The kayakers had a beautiful day to paddle the final leg of the 202 km journey into Ottawa!

Congratulations to all the paddlers, it's such a huge accomplishment! And we can't say goodbye to K4C 2026 without thanking our amazing volunteers/groundcrew who support the paddlers in a thousand different ways! Also, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated -- $47,132 has been raised for the Canadian Cancer Society!!! 💙💙💙

THE END IS NEAR!!! The kayakers will be finishing their 8-day trip at the top of the Ottawa Locks (by Chateau Laurier) on Saturday, Aug 15 -- hopefully around 5:30 pm! If you're in the area, come by and cheer them on!

DAY 7 - 8/14/26 The group encountered their second thunderstorm of the week on the water, forcing them to seek shelter again. Thanks to the good Samaritans who welcomed paddlers to shelter in their garage! Lunch was at Hurst Marina, where some of the 2001 OGs (including Papa Ron's friends, the Tilley hatters) stopped by to share memories, great to see you all! Just one day to go! ☔🌈

DAY 6 - 8/13/26 Big rain storm during the night in Merrickville, which caused the local dam to overflow and create strong currents in the canal. Thanks so much to Parks Canada for adding logs to increase the height of the dam, allowing the K4C paddlers to continue. Otherwise, the group would have needed to find a way to "portage" 2 km! A bit of water skiing to end the day! 🍁🍁🍁
