Modified Access | NCC Weekend Bikedays impacted on the Kichi Zībī Mīkan during Ottawa Bluesfest.

📆 Weekends, July 11-12, 18-19
🚧 Weekend Bikdeays participants are recommended to use the Ottawa River pathway to access the start of the parkway at Vimy Place.

Wellington sidewalks will be closed between Booth and Vimy, bikes to share open lane with vehicle traffic.

Bluesfest is ready to rock !
There will be some road closures around LeBreton Flats between July 9 and 19 for the event.

Ambitions in 2026 and beyond:
🌲’Tiny Forest’ on the Trillium Multi Use Pathway (MUP)
⛲️Develop a vision of the MUP as a ‘Linear Park’
🦋Add to our evolving Pollinator Pathway along Somerset Street
🏡Work with City to increase tree canopy based on our “low equity” status as listed in the Tree Equity Score
🌱Maximize greenspace at the new park on 1010 Somerset site
🛝Rethink & renew McCann Park at 80 Norman Street
🤝Seek out new members and partners who share our goals

The DCA is excited to collaborate with the city of Ottawa and on this pilot project of native plant gardening in the heart of Chinatown.

Join us in the fun while we:
🪴plant-up 4 container garden beds
🐝learn & share about native and pollinator friendly plants, natural ecosystems
🧤spark your interest in gardening, even in tough, urban conditions

👋💚Our Public Realm Committee actively engages our community in fostering greenspace that contributes to a healthy ecosystem for pollinators, beautifies our neighbourhood and creates opportunities for human connection. Come say hi!

🎤Thanks to all who joined our 2026 AGM! It was a fun one, with speakers Tonya Davidson and Jack Hanna sharing some funny and fascinating area history.

🧭We also heard from Councillor Troster and then outgoing DCA President Catherine Boucher to review another busy year in our catchment.

🎈And Lory Picheca, DCA Board member, announced that our neighbourhood event for , Dalhousie Day, is confirmed for Saturday October 3, 2026 at Plouffe Park. Stay tuned for more on and reach out to us if you’d like to get involved! 🥳
