Congratulations to Dunwich-Dutton Public School in Dutton, ON as they become certified as a Blue Water School!
Blue Water Schools Network was honoured to attend an assembly where Dunwich-Dutton P.S. celebrated their learning about water, how to protect it, the human right to water, and how plastics cause harm to water.
The K-8 elementary school was honoured to welcome the Mayor, members of the Municipal Council and Optimistic Club members as these town dignitaries helped acknowledge the school’s learning around water and the school’s contributions in the community. Over the course of the year, Dunwich-Dutton P.S. worked with the Optimist Club on the Team Up to Clean Up project, cleaning up their community which helped divert many plastics from local water sources. At the assembly, students performed an Indigenous water song and presented them with their Platinum certification. It was an amazing and inspiring culminating event that showcased the incredible work of the staff and students around water education and awareness. We are honoured to certify Dunwich-Dutton Public School as a Blue Water School. We couldn’t be happier to recognnize their hardwork, commitment to water education and the dedication of the staff and students to making a difference and working towards a blue future.
