*** hint - wouldn’t it be nice if the public washrooms were open more often at this park? Let’s ask for that too!

Did you know cooking with an induction stove is more energy efficient and safer than a gas stove?

🎨 Share this illustration by Director/Storyboard Artist José Pou and start the conversation with family, friends, and neighbours about the benefits of induction and the risks of indoor gas.

The Pineview neighbourhood is near the Gloucester Home Depot... about 25 minute bike ride from Manor Park along the Aviation Parkway / Cyrville road separated bike paths.

Mark your Calendar!

Join us for another for a family-friendly bike ride this time through the Pineview neighbourhood on July 11 at 10 a.m. (meeting at Meadowbrook Park).

Want a fun multi-modal adventure?
Bring bikes on the LRT, get off at Blair station and walk your bike across the cool red bridge to Pineview!

We’ll ride together at a relaxed pace on neighbourhood streets, creating a safe and welcoming environment for children and families to enjoy cycling and connect with the community.

For those who wish, Dave the Bike Guy will be on site offering free basic bike tune-ups and safety checks to help get everyone ready to roll.

Helmets are strongly recommended for all riders. Everyone participates at their own risk, and children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Participation is free. Register on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/pineview-family-bike-ride-tickets-1992399451393

The City of Ottawa is exploring a community-led approach to managing invasive plants. This initiative aims to reduce the spread of non-noxious invasive species on City-owned lands and increase public awareness of invasive plant issues.

Residents are encouraged to complete a short survey to share their knowledge and experiences with invasive species. Your input will help shape the strategy and guide future education and management efforts. The survey closes July 20.

The group is advocating for a national clean energy grid, major housing build-out and retrofit program, among other initiatives — and calling for a windfall tax on oil and gas companies to pay for it all.
