Students deserve real climate action, not fossil-fuel PR.
On November 6th, we tabled at Telfer to raise awareness about RBC’s $2 million “Green Academy” buyout: a sustainability program funded by Canada’s largest fossil fuel financier, which is currently under federal investigation for greenwashing.

Sustainable education can’t be shaped by the same corporations driving the crisis. Students see through it, and we’re demanding fossil-free education, ethical financing, and climate leadership rooted in justice.

Les étudiant·e·s méritent une action climatique réelle,  pas du marketing fossile.
Le 6 novembre, nous avons tenu une table à Telfer pour dénoncer le “Green Academy”, financé par RBC: la plus grande banque pétrolière du pays, actuellement enquêtée pour éco-blanchiment.

La durabilité ne peut pas être définie par les mêmes entreprises qui alimentent la crise. On voit clair dans ce stratagème, et on exige une éducation sans combustibles fossiles, un financement éthique et un leadership climatique basé sur la justice.

Heard of Telfer's Green Academy?

It's uOttawa's new initiative that promises to educate students on global environmental challenges, sustainable business, and responsible leadership.

The trick? It's funded by a $2-million donation from the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), the world's largest fossil fuel financer, currently funding pipelines violating Indigenous sovereignty and threatening water and land.

This is greenwashing! 
Students have never opposed climate education.
We oppose fossil-fuel-funded climate education.

C’est la nouvelle initiative de l’Université d’Ottawa qui promet de sensibiliser les étudiant(e)s aux enjeux environnementaux mondiaux, aux pratiques d’affaires durables et au leadership responsable.

Le hic ? Elle est financée par un don de 2 millions de dollars de la Banque Royale du Canada (RBC), le plus grand financeur mondial de combustibles fossiles, qui finance actuellement des pipelines violant la souveraineté autochtone et menaçant l’eau et les terres.

C’est du greenwashing !
Les étudiant(e)s n’ont jamais été contre l’éducation climatique.
Nous nous opposons à une éducation climatique financée par l’industrie fossile.
