IFSD's Association of Canadian Financial Officers training program starts the new year with its flagship course, IFSD 360. How political platforms inform elections, strategies and the fiscal framework; with platform veterans Brian Bohunicky, Ian Wayne and Renze Nauta as expert guest lecturers.

IFSD is seeking research assistants to fill a 4-month contract position. Research
assistants will support various research projects through data analysis and research.
Undergraduate students who have completed at least two years of studies by April 30, 2022, are invited to apply.

Requirements and skills:
• Strong research and analysis skills
• Experience managing data
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and effectively solve problems in a
timely manner
• Bilingual candidates preferred

IFSD is seeking a research analyst to fill a 1-year renewable contract position.

The analyst will support social policy projects that are designed to restructure and refocus approaches to the well-being of First Nations children, families, and communities. The projects include modelling the reform of the First Nations child and family services program, developing indicators for First Nations poverty, and assessing related policies and programs.

Requirements and skills:

Education: At least a master’s degree in a social science or related field or LLM

− Excellent writing skills, including academic, technical, and for decision-support
− Strategic thinking and problem solving
− Strong analysis skills
− Strong research capabilities, i.e., primary and secondary data collection and analysis
− Quantitative and qualitative methodological understanding/exposure
− Capacity for (scheduled) intensive work periods (up to three weeks at a time)
− Outcome focus, strong organizational skills, and dedication to tasks are critical
− Fluency in French (oral, comprehension, and written) would be valued, although not essential
