Burmese in Ottawa, Ontario have donated 12,438.68 THB to the Karenni PDF. This donation is intended to purchase bullets needed for the Karenni PDF's mission. The contribution is made in commemoration of the significant events of 1988, reflecting solidarity and support.

The Karenni People's Defense Force (PDF) is dedicated to protecting the rights and welfare of the Karenni people. This donation supports their ongoing efforts and underscores the importance of a federal system and democracy, which are core values in many societies.

The anniversary of 1988 serves as a time of reflection and a reminder of the ongoing journey towards peace, prosperity, and democratic principles.

We, the people of Myanmar, hereby declare our strong opposition to the military coup that took place in February 2021. In recent months, we have witnessed the armed forces being defeated in battles against ethnic"s Army and local PDFs .

Today, we reiterate our stance against the military coup regime and its attempts to consolidate power. We stand united in our conviction that a civilian government should rightfully govern our nation. The military's seizure of power has disrupted the democratic progress our country has made, and we will not allow it to undermine the principles of justice, freedom, and human rights that we hold dear.

In light of recent developments, we denounce the move announced on Saturday, which mandates that all men aged 18-35 and women aged 18-27 serve at least two years under military command. This forced conscription undermines the autonomy and wellbeing of our citizens, diverting resources away from necessary social and economic development.
We urge the armed forces to respect our democratic rights and swiftly return power to a civilian government elected by and for the people.

Let us remember the strength and resilience that lies within our diverse nation. Let us remain steadfast in our pursuit of a Myanmar governed by the will of the people, rather than the dictates of a military regime.

Together, we will overcome this challenge and build a better future for the people of Myanmar.
