Better South Keys Centre A community coalition advocating for the enhancement of South Keys Centre in Ottawa, which can evolve into a vibrant, amenity-rich community for everyone.

Vision
South Keys Centre will evolve into a vibrant, and amenity-rich community that embraces active transportation and healthy living and acts as a regional hub for Ottawa South where all life stages, income levels, and abilities are able to thrive. Our five guiding principles
1. An urban hub that is seamlessly connected to surrounding neighbourhoods through year-round transit, cycling, pedestria

n connections, with creative strategies for vehicle movement.
2. A mix of uses that attracts both local and regional visitors, to ensure the community is safe and lively at all times of the day and year.
3. A robust public realm for both casual gathering and active recreation, that allows people of all ages and abilities to live a healthy life, and respects traditional land use
4. A biophilic community that prioritizes connections to nature and uses sustainable design principles throughout the site.
5. A range of housing types and tenures to ensure a diverse population can age in place and establish pride in their community. Area of interest
Our area of interest is bounded by Bank Street, Hunt Club Rd, the O-Train line, and the VIA rail line.

🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️🚶‍♀️Join us for a Jane’s Walk on May 3! 🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Imagining a Better South Keys Centre: South Keys Centre is a large retail centre bounded by two transit stations, yet it remains stubbornly car-dependent with large parking lots and fast roads. But there is hope for a more walkable future! This walk will highlight the new O-Train stations and discuss a planned 21-storey mixed-use building, a new public plaza, public art, and improved walking and cycling connections — all of which could be built in the next five years. Join us for an inspiring discussion!
