Big thanks to everyone who came out to OCAPDD / Silver Spring Farm last weekend! ☀️🌱

Good people, good tunes, TimBits, sunshine, and a few hours of hands-on service made for a pretty great morning. Thanks to everyone who showed up and worked together! A special thank-you to our new friends, who found us on FB and decided to jump in 💙💛

It's ! Please join us in welcoming Karina Nowak to the Rotary Family ❤️

Karina joined Rotary because she genuinely values collaboration, leadership, and service above self, and because she’s been inspired by the sense of community and friendship she experienced through Rotary fellowship.

As she re-enters family law, particularly with a view of practicing collaboratively, she is excited to contribute that same energy to Rotary’s projects—especially those supporting newcomers and empowering women. Born in Poland and raised under communist rule before moving to Canada in 1994, Karina understands firsthand the pressures that drive immigration and the importance of mentorship during major life transitions.

With four children, some of whom have already taken part in some of Rotary’s more fun events, and a growing commitment to creating positive, lasting beginnings for families, Karina is eager to support initiatives at the intersection of women’s issues and community well-being, including topics such as power imbalance and intimate partner violence. Karina is impressed with the steady growth of female membership and recognition of women in Rotary’s ranks.

As Karina joins the RCWO, she is also establishing her solo family and fertility law practice under the name Genesis Family Law. Genesis being symbolic of a new beginning for herself, her clients, and now also her journey with Rotary.

HIP (Honouring Indigenous Peoples) creates space for learning, listening, relationship-building, and meaningful action toward reconciliation. Through conversation and storytelling, HIP helps deepen understanding of Indigenous experiences, histories, cultures, and perspectives, while encouraging communities to move forward together with respect and humanity.

During Unite for Peace, the HIP story will stand alongside voices from around the world: refugees, peacebuilders, artists, advocates, and community leaders whose experiences remind us that peace is built through connection, understanding, courage, and compassion.

Welcome to the Rotary Family! Anna Jasiak is a new member of the Rotary Club of West Ottawa. We invite you to share greetings in the comments below.

Anna has extensive experience with charitable organizations. As a public servant, Anna worked on the United Way campaign for over 30 years, recognizing that local communities needed support. As a cancer survivor she became involved with a fundraising team, again supporting local blood cancer patients. Becoming part of the Rotary organization was a natural extension of her desire to further extend support through local and international initiatives.

We are honoured and excited to have Anna join our Club!

Rotarians: this is a powerful opportunity to make your giving go even further.

For this Lebanon Crisis Appeal, every dollar you donate will earn DOUBLE Paul Harris Points, thanks to the incredible generosity of the Rotary Club of Montréal.

That means:
• Greater impact for families facing food insecurity
• Accelerated progress toward your Paul Harris recognition
• A meaningful way to live out Service Above Self

Our goal is to raise $10,000 USD to help feed 100 families for 14 days.

To donate:
Please send your contribution to RCWO Service Fund Inc.
[email protected]

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Montréal for amplifying this effort and helping Rotarians turn compassion into even greater impact.
