We are grateful for the generosity of our community members who continue to support Belong Ottawa's programs and participants through much-needed donations.

As we prepare for colder temperatures, we are especially seeking:
🧦 New socks
👖 New underwear
🧤 Gloves and mittens
🧣 Winter accessories and warm clothing

Ride for Refuge 2026 Recap 🚲👟

This past Saturday, participants, volunteers, parish friends, and community supporters came together for Belong Ottawa’s second annual Ride for Refuge, raising awareness and critical funds to support Centre 454.

Whether you rode, walked, volunteered, donated, or cheered from the sidelines, your support helped make the day a success. Together, we celebrated the power of community and our shared commitment to creating belonging for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and social isolation.

A special thank you to our team captains, riders, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, and donors who helped make this event possible. Your generosity will have a meaningful impact on the individuals we serve every day.

Missed the event? There is still time to make a difference as we move closer to our goal! Donations remain open until October 31, and every contribution helps support essential programs, meals, community connections, and life-changing services at Belong Ottawa and Centre 454.

To allow our teams to come together for a staff meeting, program hours will be adjusted on Tuesday, October 6.

🔹 All programs will close at 1:00 p.m. 🔹 The Well will reopen at 4:00 p.m.

Please note that Centre 454 and St Luke's Table will remain open during their regularly scheduled staff meeting days this week, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

This Saturday, our Belong Ottawa community will ride and walk in support of Centre 454, helping maintain pathways to dignity, wellness, and belonging for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and isolation.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember the children who never returned home, honour residential school Survivors, and acknowledge the strength of Indigenous families and communities who continue to carry the impacts of this history.

In the housing and homelessness sector, including Belong Ottawa, we see how the ongoing effects of colonization continue to shape the realities of many people in our community, including the disproportionate challenges Indigenous peoples face in accessing safe, stable housing and essential supports. We recognize that reconciliation requires more than reflection: It calls for listening, learning, building relationships, and taking meaningful action throughout the year.

We invite our community to learn from Indigenous voices, deepen understanding of the truth of residential schools, and consider the role each of us can play in advancing reconciliation.

⚠ Centre 454 will be closed this Wednesday, September 30 for essential maintenance. The Well and St Luke's Table will be open for regular hours: The Well is open from 8am to 12:30pm for women and gender-diverse individuals then 12:30pm to 8pm for all, and St Luke's Table is open from 8am to 3pm!

Belong Ottawa staff and supporters were proud to join fellow community partners this past Sunday for the Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa's Race to End Homelessness 👟

Each day, we walk alongside community members facing homelessness and precarious housing. Events like this reinforce the importance of coming together to advocate for affordable housing, strengthen community connections, and ensure everyone has the opportunity to belong and thrive.

Community Barbecue hosted by St Luke's Table! 🍔🌭

This Friday, September 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., join us at Dundonald Park for hot dogs, hamburgers, and great community as we celebrate a fantastic summer. All are welcome!

To prepare for and host this special community celebration, St Luke's Table will be open at 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Our St Luke's Table and The Well teams will be at Dundonald Park helping to make the afternoon a success, with The Well opening at 3:30 p.m to all.
