Cornerstone Housing for Women Cornerstone provides emergency shelter, an outreach program, and supportive housing at four locations in Ottawa.

Our services are tailored to the unique needs of women transforming their lives after homelessness. Cornerstone currently has four operational houses.

From surviving violence and a life-changing car accident to rebuilding her life with strength and hope, Beverley’s journey is one of remarkable resilience.

In this interview, beautifully captured by S+C Photography, Beverley shares her story of healing, perseverance, and finding a place to call home. Today, she is rebuilding her life and using her voice to inspire others in her community.

Our van has a brand-new look!
 
We are incredibly grateful to a special generous donor who offered to add colour and brand our Cornerstone van.
 
Our van transports food and groceries between our locations to support our kitchen team. With more than 320 women relying on us for meals every day, having a reliable and recognizable vehicle helps keep everything moving.
 
If you see our newly branded van around the city, be sure to give us a wave! 👋

We are proud to celebrate Pride at Eccles today, bringing residents together for an afternoon of connection, celebration, and joy.

A heartfelt thank you to SERVPRO for sponsoring the food and drinks and for volunteering at the BBQ. Your generosity helped make this celebration possible.

We’re looking for volunteer drivers with vehicles to help pick up donations!

Our In-Kind Donation Program relies on our ability to collect community donations quickly and safely, and we would love YOUR HELP!

We currently have two volunteer opportunities available:
• One-day large appliance pick-up
• Ongoing food donation pick-ups on various days throughout the summer months

By volunteering your time and vehicle, you’ll play a direct role in helping us support those who rely on our services.

Thank You, Ottawa Summer Food Drive!

This weekend, Cornerstone received more than 500 pounds of fresh produce and food through the Ottawa Summer Food Drive.

We are incredibly grateful to Khalsa Aid International , Odd Bunch, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, participating schools, families, educators, community partners, and volunteers who came together to make this initiative a success.

At Cornerstone, we serve approximately 750 meals every day and more than 270,000 meals each year. Donations like these help us provide nutritious meals to women and gender-diverse individuals accessing our shelter and supportive housing programs.

As food insecurity continues to rise across Ottawa, this donation will go directly into our food program, helping nourish the women we serve with fresh, healthy meals.
