🔹New Riverfront Patio 🔹
Do you like going for walks and bike rides along the river?
The National Capital Commission (NCC) has opened a new river-front patio near Wateridge at the Blair Road boat launch.
The site features seating on the newly constructed terrace, including Muskoka chairs, tables and chairs, as well as shaded areas with umbrellas.
A seasonal operator, SnackO'Shack Ottawa, is now offering light food and beverage service on site.
The site is currently open daily from 11 am until dusk.
This seasonal installation remains part of the 2026 pilot project, which will allow the NCC to test site usage and gain a better understanding of how the space is used.
Parking at the site is limited, and visitors are encouraged to consider active modes of transportation, such as walking and cycling, given the site’s proximity to the Ottawa River Pathway.
The NCC will continue to closely monitor site conditions and make adjustments as needed throughout the season.
By bike or walking, the site is located approximately 2.25 km from Hemlock and Codd's via Oshedinaa street and the old base road down the hill and then path system along the river. It can also be reached by driving to the North end of Blair Road and turning left at Massey Lane. Note: There is no motor vehicle access from the parkway - you must enter from Blair.
