As part of this commitment, CAVIWO provided clothes, shoes, and other wearable items to underprivileged children in the JALINGO, TARABA STATE, NIGERIA community.

Field Mission Report | Cameroon 2026

July 1, 2026 – Orphanage Visit

Our second field mission during CAVIWO's 2026 humanitarian outreach to Cameroon was one of the most profound and emotional experiences of our journey. On July 1, our delegation visited a local orphanage, where we spent time with children whose resilience and hope left a lasting impression on our hearts.

The visit served as a powerful reminder that millions of children around the world continue to face daily challenges, including food insecurity, inadequate clothing, and limited access to essential resources. Their stories reinforce the importance of compassionate action and collective responsibility in supporting vulnerable children and families.

As we reflect on this experience, we encourage everyone to consider how items we no longer need—such as gently used clothing, shoes, educational materials, and other essentials—can become invaluable resources for children and communities in need.

Our international mission to Cameroon, West Africa, commenced on July 1st 2026 with a visit to a one-hectare agricultural project fully funded by Canada Virtuous Women (CAVIWO) and successfully implemented by the widows of Galim.

Witnessing the progress of this initiative was both inspiring and encouraging. The farm stands as a powerful example of how community support and charitable giving can create sustainable livelihoods, strengthen food security, and empower widows in rural communities to achieve greater economic independence.

This project reflects CAVIWO's ongoing commitment to empowering vulnerable women through sustainable development initiatives. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our donors, partners, volunteers, and supporters whose generosity makes transformative projects like this possible.
