We are incredibly proud of our Film Commissioner, Sandrine De Saint Sardos, for her recent work as a juror for the Youth Media Alliance - Alliance Médias Jeunesse, Banff World Media Festival's the Rockie Awards, and the 2026 International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (International Emmy Awards), keeping Ottawa connected as a world-class hub for film and television.

A massive congratulations to ATO Media Inc. on their win for Gang de hockey - Saison 2! We are especially thrilled to celebrate this series because it was filmed right here in Ottawa.

Its success is a huge testament to our city's incredible local talent, skilled crews, and versatile locations, proving that Ottawa is a premier destination for bringing high-quality youth programming to life. 🏒🏆

We also want to send a huge shoutout to Ottawa-based production company SLALOM, who received a well-deserved nomination for the series CIRKUS 2!

We are also so proud of TFO for taking home three broadcaster awards at the YMA Gala for Couleurs Du Nord, Gang de hockey - Saison 2, and Rebelles. Congratulations to all the Franco-Ontarian creators and artisans behind these bold, inspiring stories!

Thank you to the Youth Media Alliance, Telefilm Canada, and the Canada Media Fund for a wonderful evening celebrating youth media. And a special shoutout to City of Ottawa's Event Central for delivering the essential film permits that help make these local productions possible! 👏

2025 was a record-breaking year for our city, bringing in $62 million in local economic activity from live-action production. As our CEO & Film Commissioner Sandrine De Saint Sardos told the Ottawa Business Journal, Ottawa has so much potential!

From being shortlisted for "Film Commission of the Year" at the Global Production Awards at the Cannes Film Festival to the ongoing priority of a local soundstage, the future of Ottawa's screen industry is taking big steps.

“The film industry stimulates economic development in creating jobs in film, TV and animation, retaining talents, attracting emerging filmmakers, maintaining growth in areas like hospitality, tourism, and education, and helps raise Canada's Capital profile as a vibrant, creative city.”

Celebrating Canadian Cinema: A Special National Canadian Film Day Screening in Ottawa

To celebrate National Canadian Film Day this Wednesday, April 15, the Canadian Film Institute * Institut canadien du film and the Ottawa Film Office are proud to present a special 20th-anniversary screening of the iconic Bon Cop, Bad Cop.

We’ve teamed up with REEL CANADA to bring this year’s theme, 'Let’s Dream Together,' to life at the ByTowne Cinema. Let’s celebrate our stories and the power of the culture we share.

Special Highlight: The screening will feature a pre-recorded Q&A with the film’s star, Colm Feore, discussing the legacy of this beloved film.

Célébrons le cinéma canadien: une projection spéciale à l’occasion de la Journée nationale du cinéma canadien à Ottawa

Pour célébrer la Journée nationale du cinéma canadien ce mercredi 15 avril, l’Institut du cinéma canadien et Le Bureau du cinéma d’Ottawa sont fiers de présenter une projection spéciale marquant le 20e anniversaire du film emblématique *Bon Cop, Bad Cop*.

Nous nous sommes associés à REEL CANADA pour donner vie au thème de cette année, « Rêvons ensemble », au cinéma Bytowne. Célébrons nos histoires et la force de la culture que nous partageons.

Temps fort : la projection comprendra une séance de questions-réponses préenregistrée avec la vedette du film, Colm Feore, qui discutera de l’héritage de ce film tant apprécié.

The Ottawa Film Office is thrilled to be heading to the Association of Film Commissioners International | AFCI Studio Summit 2026 at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles tomorrow for an insightful session on the international stage!

Our very own Film Commissioner, Sandrine De Saint Sardos, will be joining a distinguished panel for the masterclass: "Sharing Your City’s Story: Marketing for Film Commissions."

Presented by Bloomberg Associates, this session focuses on how cities can amplify their local screen industries to drive civic pride and significant economic impact.

We are looking forward to diving into real-world case studies, including the iconic "Made in NY" branding vehicle, to bring back fresh strategies for the Ottawa film community.
