Welcome June! 🐝🌻🌛

As we begin National Indigenous History Month, we’re looking forward to a month of learning, celebrating, and supporting First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples, businesses, artists, and communities.

We’re also thinking back to last Thursday’s Community Mixer. Miigwetch to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to April of for sharing her story, experiences, and entrepreneurial journey. It was a great reminder of how much we can learn from one another when we come together!

Here’s to a month filled with connection, community, and supporting one another along the way 🪴🍓

Your business deserves the time, support, and community needed to grow 🌱

Applications are now open for the Wejibàbandan Indigenous Business Incubator, a 15-week, full-time program for early-stage Indigenous entrepreneurs in the National Capital Region.

Running from September to December 2026, the program is designed to help participants strengthen their businesses, build momentum, and take the next steps toward long-term sustainability.
Through the incubator, participants receive a living wage, one-on-one mentorship, expert-led training, dedicated workspace, business resources, and a startup grant to support their growth along the way.

If you’re wondering whether the program is right for you, join us on Friday, June 12 for the Wejibàbandan Info Session. You’ll have the opportunity to hear from alumni, learn more about the application process, and get a closer look at what the incubator experience can offer.

This opportunity is best suited for Indigenous entrepreneurs who have already launched their business, have started generating sales or market traction, and are ready to focus on growing a scalable, full-time business.

Applications close Friday, July 10th at 11:59 PM EST. To access our 2026-2027 Application Form, register for our upcoming Info-Session on June 12th and learn more: https://adaawehub.ca/incubator

Growth often begins with a shift in perspective.

🌱🌿🌻

Mark speaks to the power of “shift thinking” as a way to reset how we see challenges, history, and opportunity. The past may shape us, but it does not define what comes next!

There is power in choosing how you move forward. In business and in life, the ability to shift your thinking can open doors that once felt closed.

In a world that moves quickly online, there’s still something deeply important about being together in person.

A hug from someone who understands you, laughter shared across a table, conversations that linger a little longer — these moments ground us.

Community is felt in presence. This , make time to connect with the people around you 🫂

The warmer days are finally here, bringing more chances to get outside, connect with community, and support local 🌞🍓🌾🌻

Spend time at the farmers market, visit a small business, take a walk, share a coffee, enjoy the fresh air. These small moments of connection matter.

When we show up for one another, support local makers, and share space together, we help each other grow.

You know those business tasks that keep getting pushed to the bottom of the to-do list?

We’re creating space to finally get them done.

Introducing ADAAWE Work Circle Sessions: quarterly co-working sessions for Indigenous entrepreneurs and creatives who want dedicated time to focus on their business while being surrounded by community, support, and accountability.

Facilitated by Community Builder Ashley Clark, these sessions are meant to feel productive, collaborative, and low-pressure.
Some days, the hardest part of entrepreneurship is simply finding the time, focus, and motivation to start.

That’s what Work Circle is for.

A little accountability.
A little encouragement.
A lot of getting things done together.

Every step you take leaves something behind.
Mark shares the importance of moving with intention, knowing that others are walking alongside and behind you.

The goal is not just to succeed, but to create a path that others can follow with confidence.
Leadership is not always loud—Sometimes it is simply choosing to move forward in a way that makes space for others to do the same.

Walk with purpose. Someone is learning from your steps. Read Mark’s full story at the link in our bio.
