We are honoured to work alongside the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis families and communities in advancing the principles of Truth and Reconciliation in the design and delivery of health and social services.

This video highlights the voices and experiences of four Indigenous health centres, some beginning their quality improvement journey through Accreditation Canada’s Primer program, others long-time organizations accredited within the Qmentum Global™ program.

These stories reinforce culturally safe, community-driven care, while supporting staff and honouring traditions.

Today, we join a global community in celebrating World Accreditation Day 2026.

This year’s theme, Innovation, Trust and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation, recognizes the role accreditation plays in improving patient outcomes, reducing risks, and strengthening health systems. By setting evidence-informed standards, accreditation helps organizations identify gaps, focus their efforts, and build a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

As health care systems face growing sustainability and climate pressures, the challenge is clear: where to focus, how to act, and how to show results.

To mark the day, Accreditation Canada is hosting a global webinar Innovating for Purpose: Accreditation’s Role in Sustainable Health Care. In one hour, you will hear from leaders across Canada on how accreditation supports smarter decisions, effective implementation, and measurable clinical, operational, and environmental impact. You will also get a first look at the Climate Action Maturity Assessment.

Join us and be part of the global effort to build stronger, more sustainable health systems.

Today, we launch the Echocardiography Quality Improvement (EQI) Pediatric Accreditation Program and welcome PACE Cardiology, as the first organization to enrol.

Already accredited in the EQI Adult Program, PACE is extending its commitment to quality across patient populations.

➡️ The program provides independent validation of:

◽ Clinical accuracy
◽ Standardized imaging and reporting
◽ Quality management systems
◽ Patient safety practices

PACE Cardiology’s early adoption signals a shift toward system-wide quality alignment.

Quality is not assumed. It is demonstrated.

During this National Indigenous History Month, we are spotlighting our client The Six Nations of the Grand River Department of Well-Being that serves the Six Nations of the Grand River community through a wide range of services that are vital to supporting the well-being of the community and addressing complex health needs.

Earlier this year, they achieved Exemplary Standing, the highest level of recognition awarded by Accreditation Canada. One of the most meaningful outcomes of accreditation was the strengthening of their people-centred approach. The accreditation process also inspired the team to seek feedback from the community.

Yesterday, at Choosing Wisely Canada’s National Meeting, our Senior Program Manager, Andra Stancu, presented on the new Climate Action program that will be launching later this summer.

A new Accreditation Canada initiative, developed in partnership with the Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care, the Climate Action program helps organizations drive meaningful change through a step-by-step process that aligns with standards and Required Safety Practices. It enables organizations to set priorities for action, measure success and progress year over year by making small changes with compounding impacts.
