On June 13, we celebrated National Long-Term Care Day.

On this day, we recognize the essential role of LTC homes, their residents, team members, caregivers, and volunteers.

Join us in expressing our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who help to enrich the lives of those who call long-term care their home.

Special thanks to Lisa Gordon and the team at Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO) for inviting National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC®) to be part of the 2026 TRO Conference in Niagara Falls, ON in June 2026. NCTRC Executive Director, Anne Richard, NCTRC Senior Credentialing Specialist, Susan Kaufer, and NCTRC Board Chairperson, Chris Richard were pleased to connect with so many attendees and hand out special edition CTRS merchandise in honor of NCTRC's 45th anniversary! If we didn't get to talk to you at the TRO conference, please feel free to email us with your questions: [email protected]. Plus, find NCTRC anytime at NCTRC.org and remember to follow NCTRC on social media ().

TRO Executive Director, Lisa Gordon, was invited to present at Penetanguishene 55+ Centre's Senior Information Day earlier today! Lisa highlighted the benefits of Therapeutic Recreation in supporting healthy aging, social connection, independence, and overall well-being within the community.

As a growing Centre dedicated to fostering an age-friendly and active community, this topic strongly resonated with attendees and complemented the range of services and resources shared throughout the day and at the Centre year-round.

National AccessAbility Week reminds us that accessibility is not a privilege — it’s a right.

Let’s continue creating spaces where everyone feels included, valued, heard, and empowered. Small changes can remove big barriers and make our communities stronger for all.
