The Human Cost...The victory at Juno Beach was both remarkable and costly. On D-Day alone, Canadians suffered 1,074 casualties, including 359 killed (340 on the beach and 19 within the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion). By the end of the two-and-a-half-month Battle of Normandy, more than 5,000 Canadians had lost their lives.

Today marked the grand opening of the Unifor Power Centre — a dedicated space created to support displaced workers from GM and the feeder plants.

The centre will provide resources including resume building, interview preparation, job search assistance, training opportunities, and support services to help members navigate the next chapter of their careers.
