We're still scratching our heads at the OPS, wondering how some of you Tuesday night players even make it out the door in the morning? 🤯 Do you have a team of stylists and mathematicians on speed dial or something? 😂 Anyway, let's talk about the super complicated task of counting chips and writing numbers on a piece of paper... yeah, it's a real brain twister! 🤯 We're not sure what's more impressive, the fact that some of you managed to mess it up or that we didn't lose our minds trying to explain it to you. 😂

Bill Hann and Randy Walsh, you guys need to brush up on your counting skills, stat!

Allan Taylor, Mark Avery, and Marj Decastro, how do you even... nevermind. Next SET, please bring a calculator to add up your chips!!

Jon Lodge, Laura Farrell, Len Fraser, and Mark Avery, we're pretty sure your kindergarten teachers are crying themselves to sleep at night. 😂 Y'all did the hard part right, you could count and add. But writing your name and chip count on the bag was a tall task!!

As for the rest of you, congrats on not totally embarrassing yourselves... yet! 😉 The embarrassment comes when you lose to these people!!! 😂

With no games this evening due to a graduation at the hall, let's look a few stats that don't get thrown around as much as the others.

We'll begin with heads-up records. To qualify for these stats, a player must have played at least 4 heads-up matches.

Only two eligible players have unbeaten heads-up records. James Dorgan won a Week 1 of OPS 20-2, which improved his heads-up record to a perfect 5-0. Shirley Bain, who last won back in Week 2 of OPS 4-3, has a perfect 4-0 record.

Looking at everyone else, we have...
Wade Serediuk - 8-1 (88.89% winniner percentage)
Tim Taylor - 11-2 (84.62%)
Gord Noland - 16-3 (84.21%)
Greg Moran - 5-1 (83.33%)
Melanie Lewis - 5-1 (83.33%)
James Richardson - 12-3 (80.00%)
Brett Van Ginkel - 4-1 (80.00%)
Randy Walsh - 18-5 (78.26%)
Adam Lee - 20-6 (76.92%)
Derick Ingram - 9-3 (75.00%)

12 other players are tied at 3-1 (75.00%)

Jack Oegema will begin Day 2 of SET 20-2 with a stack of 57,000 chips, the 23rd highest stack to begin the Day. He is hoping for his first ever SET cash in this, his 15th career SET. This is the current longest active streak among those that are remaining in SET 20-2 and have never cashed.

Rahul Lal is next, beginning Day 2 with 42,000 chips (32nd). Rahul is playing his 9th career SET, and is looking to earn some coin for the first time.

Rachelle Schwartzkopf did not make it through Day 1 of SET 20-2, busting in 103rd place. This was Rachelle's 28th career SET, which is currently the longest active streak among players. Her best SET finish was 14th back in SET 19-3.

Sandra Parrington, who busted 71st in SET 20-2, and Mike Starkey have each played 19 SETs without ever cashing, while Glen Sellars (who busted in 69th place) and Greg Moran have gone 18.

Derick Ingram finished 9th in OPS 20-2, and began SET 20-2 with the 10th highest chip stack, 47,025 chips. He would bust out in 97th place. This drop of 87 positions is tied for the 3rd largest drop in OPS history!!

Christine Pemberton began SET 20-2 in 34th place, busting out in 109th for a 75 position drop (tied for the 22nd biggest drop). Ben Noble fell from 14th to 88th, a 74 position fall (tied for the 24th biggest drop).

Since the introduction of the 2-Day SET back in OPS 9-1, the lowest starting stack to pull off a SET victory was Gino Risorto's 14,200 in SET 19-1. Gino's starting position of 100th place is also the lowest ranked player to win SET.

Kyle Demerchant will begin Day 2 of SET 20-2 in 39th place with 36,000 chips. He began the SET with a starting stack of 12,025 chips (106th place), and is the only player remaining with a shot at Gino's records.

Mark Avery began the SET in 97th position with 17,425 chips, and will begin Day 2 with 68,500 chips (18th).

Colby Vesters (started 88th, 20,050 chips), Randy Gardner (87th, 20,475) and Bill Hann (85th, 20,775) are also still alive for Day 2 of SET 19-2, despite their low chip stacks to begin the game.

06/21/2026

Heather Boivin will begin Day 2 of SET 20-2 with 23,500 chips (46th position). This is Heather's 59th SET, and she is still searching for that first elusive title, the most among active players for Day 2. Heather finished 2nd in SET 18-1, won by Shawn Demerchant.

Jeff Schissler is working on his 45th SET, and will enter Day 2 with 81,500 chips (13th most) in an attempt to capture his first SET victory. Jeff has a couple of 8th place finishes to his name, back in SET 8-4 (won by Daryl Andrews) and SET 13-4 (XX).

Will Hann is playing his 42nd career SET, and is chasing down that first SET win. His Day 2 stack of 69,500 sits 17th to begin the day. He is looking to get over the hump, as he has a pair of 2nd place finishes - SET 13-1 (won by Pat Humphries) and SET 19-1 (Gino Risorto).

Dave Noble will begin Day 2 of SET 20-2 in 23rd place with 57,000 chips. He is also looking for his first SET title in this, his 41st, SET. Dave's best shot was his 2nd place finish in SET 7-1, won by Ryan Bonura.

Along with the finale of SET 20-2 a week this coming Tuesday, the OPS will be hosting Satellites to our next Series. These Satellites will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, and no seats will be held for players. As tables open up, more Satellites can be played. Players can play in as many Satellites as they wish.

The cost of the Satellites will be $25 per player (if playing with 8 players at a table) or $20 per player (if using 10-man tables). Games can start anytime after 6:30pm and a table is full. Each player will begin with 100 big blinds - 5,000 chips, with the blinds starting at 25/50.

Winners of the Satellites will get discounts into our next Series, OPS 20-3, which begins Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Points for the winners will begin accumulating after the players attend their first game of the Series.

Chops during these Satellites are allowed. Those reaching a chop will need to pay the difference between the amount of the chop and the $200 entry fee for OPS 20-3. This difference does not matter if paying via cash or e-transfer.

Satellite wins are not transferrable among future Series, and are only valid for OPS 20-3. Exceptions will be made only for those who already have the cost for next Series covered - Freerolls, LMS, PotY, etc.

Finally, the Satellites will end when the final hand of the actual SET is played. Any Satellites still in play will need to chop any money, either evenly, based on chip counts, or another method.

Good luck to all participating.

There are 53 players remaining in SET 20-2, and among them sit 12 previous SET winners.

Ian Fenton is one of those previous 15 SET winners. In fact, Ian is the only player to have 4 SET titles to their name. His 61,000 chips to begin Day 2 is 20th heading into the second day in his quest to become not only the first 5-time SET winner, but the first player to ever win back-to-back SETs.

Dave Magvas will begin Day 2 in 11th position with 86,000 chips. Dave is the only other player besides Ian to have 3 career SET victories, having won SET 1-3, SET 12-1 and SET 12-3, and is looking to join Ian in the 4 title club.

Gino Risorto, winner of SET 18-3 and SET 19-1, and Bill Hann (SET 5-3 and SET 10-4) are the only other players remaining with multiple SET wins. Gino will begin Day 2 with 73,000 chips, the 14th highest stack to being the night, while Bill's stack of 34,000 is 42nd

Laura Farrell (SET 6-3), John Smithson (SET 6-4), Jarrod Boivin (SET 7-2), Kenneth McFarlane (SET 9-1), Mike Younghusband (SET 9-4), Jani Nummela (SET 11-4), Barry Malone (SET 19-2) and Craig Fenton (SET 19-3) are all previous SET winners looking to join the list of multiple SET title winners.

That leaves 41 players looking for their first SET title.

Donkeys do what donkeys do!!

Paula Nicholson took her 217 big blind starting stack all the way to a 77th place finish. This is the best SET finish for a Donkey since Jeff Marot ran his 9,300 Donkey stack to a 76th place finish back in SET 18-3. Paula lasted a total of 2 hours and 53 minutes.

James Richardson holds the record for the lowest finish ever by a Donkey, busting in 113th place (out of 113 players) in SET 20-1.

Paula was not the first player eliminated from the game!! Baily Joyce managed to crash and burn his way to a solid 111th (last) place finish. He busted on the first hand of the game, throwing away his short stack of 1,375 chips in 3 minutes and 27 seconds.

The largest chip stack to bust out in Day 1 was OPS winner David Manuel. He began the day with the largest chip stack. However, his 60,275 chips dropped down to zero by the end of the night.

06/19/2026

Randy Walsh will begin Day 2 of SET 20-2 with the chip lead. His 253,000 chips account for nearly 7.55% of all the chips in play to begin the game. He will have almost 45% of the chips at his table when play begins. He will have 180,000 more chips than the next highest chip stack at his table (Gino Risorto, 73,000).

The 7 highest chip stacks to begin Day 2 will be seated at Seat 2 of their tables. Randy, Mike Defilippis (217,500 chips), Shawn Daigle (180,500), Jake Fraser (163,500), Marj Decastro (125,500), Kirk Schwartzkopf (108,000) and Adam Rantisi (107,000) will all carry the big stacks at their respective tables. These 7 players, while only accounting for 13.21% of the total players, will hold 34.45% of the total chips in play.

Similarly, the bottom 7 chip stacks, while still only being 13.21% of the players, will only hold 1.88% of all the chips to begin play.

SET 20-2 will have 8 players begin Day 2 with over 100,000 chips, which is just above the average of 7.43 players. Our previous SET, SET 20-1, had 11 players begin Day 2 with 100K in chips. SET 19-2 and SET 19-3 share the record with a dozen players ending the first day of action with over 100K in chips.
