Since then, we have actively provided wellness opportunities through our food bank and programs to serve people in Oshawa and throughout Durham Region who experience financial and social challenges.

A huge thank you to Second Harvest for another incredible delivery supporting our Food Bank!

This week, we received a full skid of fresh milk, fresh cucumbers, potatoes, chips, and crackers, helping us provide nutritious food and additional variety to local individuals and families accessing our programs.

Food rescue partnerships like this help reduce food waste while ensuring good food reaches people who need it most.

We are so grateful for Second Harvest’s continued partnership and commitment to strengthening food security in our community.

A huge thank you to the OPP for once again hosting a food drive in support of Simcoe Hall at Nadim’s No Frills in Oshawa!

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from the OPP, Nadim’s No Frills, and everyone who donated food and funds to help local individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

Thanks to your generosity, we received $400 in cash donations and approximately $5,000 worth of non-perishable food items, which will directly support our Food Bank programs and help ensure people have access to essential food supports.

We are excited to welcome children ages 7–14 for another summer filled with adventure, creativity, friendship, and fun.

Campers will enjoy field trips, cooking classes, arts and crafts, games, sports, outdoor activities, and more throughout July and August.

Introducing Let’s Get Cooking!🍲

Simcoe Hall Settlement House is proud to launch our Community Kitchen Campaign, a project focused on creating a welcoming space where meals, learning, and community come together.

This kitchen will help expand fresh meal preparation for our Food Bank and community programs, support cooking classes for children, youth, adults, and seniors, and create meaningful opportunities for people to connect through food.

We are incredibly grateful that support for this project is already underway. Community members have stepped forward to donate electrical and gas fitting services to help prepare for the installation of our donated commercial stove, demonstrating the powerful impact of community collaboration and generosity.

As this vision continues to grow, we invite the community to be part of it. Whether through donations, equipment, supplies, volunteer support, or simply helping spread the word, every contribution helps bring this project to life.

Together, we can build a kitchen that nourishes more than hunger, a space that fosters connection, dignity, learning, and community for years to come.🧡💙
