This past weekend, our After School Program staff and two of our Youth Ambassadors had the opportunity to attend the Youth Pride Durham event in Whitby. It was a fantastic day filled with sunshine, community connections, and incredible performances!

Our Youth Ambassadors enjoyed their first year at the event, volunteering their time, meeting new people, exploring the various booths and activities, and connecting with other youth from across Durham Region. As an event designed specifically for young people, it provided a fun, welcoming, and inclusive space for them to learn, grow, and celebrate diversity.

A big thank you to Youth Pride Durham for hosting another wonderful event. We are grateful to have been part of such a meaningful day and are already looking forward to next year!🌈💙

At Simcoe Hall, we recognize that meaningful learning begins with listening. This month, we encourage our community to explore Indigenous perspectives, celebrate achievements, and deepen our understanding of the histories, traditions, and contributions that continue to shape our communities, our region, and our country.

National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to learn from Indigenous voices, reflect on our shared history, and recognize the strength, resilience, and wisdom that continue to enrich our communities today.

The Simcoe Hall Settlement House was founded in 1935. Since then, we have actively provided wellness opportunities through our food bank and programs to serve people in Oshawa and throughout Durham Region who experience financial and social challenges.

📣 A Huge Thank You to MTC Factory Outlet!

When one of our Food Bank freezers unexpectedly stopped working, we knew we needed help quickly. Thanks to our friends at MTC Factory Outlet, what could have become a major challenge turned into an incredible example of community support.

After reaching out, we were thrilled to learn that MTC was willing to donate a replacement freezer and even more amazed that it would be ready for pickup the very next day! The speed of their response and generosity was nothing short of incredible.

MTC has supported Simcoe Hall's programs in the past, so we knew they cared deeply about the community. Once again, they stepped up when we needed them most, helping ensure that we can continue serving individuals and families who rely on our Food Bank.

Your $250 Happy Camper Sponsorship can send one child to camp for a full week, complete with meals, activities, and memorable summer experiences.

For some children, attending camp simply wouldn't be possible without the generosity of caring supporters like you. Your sponsorship does more than cover the cost of camp. It gives a child the opportunity to feel safe, included, build confidence, make new friends, and create lasting memories that they will carry with them for years to come.
