Know someone who has passed GED tests but didn’t finish? Share this with them.

If you passed any GED tests (Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, or Science) but did not complete all 5 subjects, you will need to have those credits transferred to CAEC by May 3, 2027.

Your marks do not expire, but they must be transferred into the CAEC system (Vretta) before this date in order to be used. If they are not transferred by the deadline, you would need to rewrite those subjects as CAEC tests.

To transfer your credits, create or log into your account at
https://caec.vretta.com

Then complete the PLAR request form and send it to [email protected]:https://www.gnb.ca/content/dam/GNB3/t/et-ef/adult-learning/docs/caec-plar-request.pdf

If you already completed all 5 GED subjects, you do not need to take any action.

We had a potluck in our Intro CAEC/WES class at NBCC this week. Learners shared Syrian dishes with their classmates and teachers.

Class takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but we always make time to connect, learn from one another, and enjoy moments like this together. ❤️

February is Black History Month.

As an adult education non-profit, we see every day how access to learning can open doors. Black History Month is a reminder of the importance of inclusive, welcoming learning spaces where everyone’s experiences and histories are respected and valued.

We recognize and celebrate the history, achievements, and ongoing contributions of Black Canadians in our communities and across the country, today and every day.

This spring, we were lucky to receive proceeds from the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in Oromocto, which allowed us to purchase six new laptops for our classrooms.

These laptops play an important role in our CAEC classes. With the CAEC test now computer based, learners need regular opportunities to use technology in the classroom. Beyond testing, access to laptops helps learners build digital skills they will use for work, further education, and everyday life.

We are incredibly thankful to the Tim Hortons team in Oromocto, the many local businesses, and everyone in the community who supported Smile Cookie this spring. It is so meaningful to see that support directly benefit our learners.

We held our annual general meeting last week and wanted to share a few photos and a big thank you to everyone who joined us. It was really nice to have some of our learners, teachers, board members, and partners together in one space. Our learner speakers, Nina, Roxanne, and Marcus, shared their stories in a way that truly touched everyone in the room.

Thank you to our teaching team for everything you do for our learners: Kelly, Murray, Alexa, Brenda, Cara, Michelle, William, Alex, Pam, and Tracey. We were also glad Deb was able to join us after her recent retirement.

We also want to give a sincere thank you to our board for the leadership and support you provide throughout the year. You guide so much of the work we do behind the scenes, and our programs are stronger because of the time and care you give. Even without a group photo, we hope you know how much you are appreciated.
