Today is Sisters in Spirit Day. We honour the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, two-spirited people, their families and communities.

The need for change remains. This day is a reminder that we all must continue efforts to raise awareness for the continued need for systemic change, improved safety and justice.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day to acknowledge, learn and reflect on Canada’s legacy of residential schools, while honouring those affected by the legacy.

As denialism and harmful acts aimed at erasing the harmful history occur, a commitment to reconciliation requires all of us to stand in support of residential school survivors, their experience and the experience of their families, communities and all those affected. 🧡

September 8 is International Literacy Day! This year’s theme is “Literacy for people, the planet and prosperity,” highlighting how literacy is fundamental in supporting the development of greater health, equality and education.

Ksalsuti is an avid supporter of developing literacy skills for everyone, notably children. We have three books available in Wolastoqey, Mi’kmaq, and English for children between kindergarten and grade two. These books focus on developing the social and emotional wellbeing of kids.

Voices of Resilience: Collaborative Approaches to Combat Human Trafficking — Indigenous Matriarchs Shaping the Future.

Mark your calendars: April 5th - 7th, 2027, at the Fredericton Convention Centre.

This year, the UN marks the day with the theme "Trapped Behind the Scam," spotlighting a growing form of trafficking — people lured abroad with fake job offers and forced into online scam operations. It's a powerful reminder of why this work matters, and why we're bringing survivors, communities, and allies back together.

Stay tuned for more details on speakers, registration, and programming in the coming months.
