Une espèce en péril : LE NOYER CENDRÉ
🌱 L’objectif de notre pépinière est de fournir des arbres indigènes afin d’aider au reboisement de notre région. Parmi les espèces à vendre se trouve le noyer cendré, une espèce en voie de disparition selon la Loi sur les espèces en péril du Gouvernement du Canada. Cet arbre indigène est reconnaissable grâce à ses grandes feuilles composées et à ses fruits allongés recouverts d’une enveloppe verte. Ses noix constituent une source de nourriture pour plusieurs espèces de la faune, tandis que l’arbre contribue à la diversité et à la richesse de nos écosystèmes forestiers. 🔴 Malheureusement, le chancre du noyer cendré, une maladie causée par un champignon, a entraîné un important déclin des populations de noyers cendrés en Amérique du Nord. La conservation des arbres encore présents et la plantation de nouveaux individus sont donc des gestes qui peuvent contribuer à maintenir cette espèce dans nos paysages.

The International Monarch Monitoring Blitz is one week away!

The Monarch Blitz is a call to action for people across North America to join efforts to conserve monarch butterflies and the habitat they depend on.

This year's Blitz runs from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, Aug. 9. For these 10 days, submit all sightings of monarchs on the Journey North website. Every observation of monarchs or milkweed matters and helps build a clearer picture of monarch breeding habitat across North America.
