🏈 Volunteer Spotlight 🏈

We’re shining the spotlight on our arguably #1 sideline motivational fan, John-Kevin (JK) Flynn!

JK coached with U14 Tackle (2019) and has volunteered as a scorekeeper and timekeeper for U10 and U12 for the past 3 years.

What does he love most about volunteering with OMFA?
“Watching the kids get better and succeed together. Working with the managers and coaches has been great. The leadership is amazing, and Cass has incredible dedication and passion for the organization.”

His favourite volunteering memory?
“Being the assistant coach for a team of 35 players in 2019, not knowing I would become their Vice Principal at St. Matt’s that September. Sixteen of them ended up at St. Matt’s, and seeing their reactions when they realized I was their VP was priceless!”

Thank you, JK, for your dedication, passion, and alllll the energy you bring to OMFA. We appreciate everything you do for our athletes and our community!

Volunteer Role: Coach
With OMFA: 2 years

What do you love most about volunteering with OMFA?
Watching the players develop, gain confidence, and have fun. Seeing everything we practice during the week come together on game day is incredibly rewarding, and it helps me grow as a coach too.

Favourite Volunteer Memory?
Watching the athletes recognize plays, work together as a team, and improve week after week. Seeing their hard work pay off on the field and the smiles that come with it is something I’ll always remember.

Thank you Daniel, for all your hard work, commitment and devotion to our organization. Special thanks for stepping up for double duty this past flag season!!

Volunteer Spotlight:
🌟Coach Osman 🌟

Coach Osman has been part of the OMFA family as a player and the last three years as a coach. Today, he serves as a Head Coach for our U12 Flag and Tackle programs.

What he loves most about volunteering is the opportunity to give back to the program that helped shape him as a young athlete. Watching players grow in confidence, develop their skills, and create lifelong memories is what makes coaching so rewarding.

One of the things that makes his journey even more meaningful is having his father watch him carry on the tradition of giving back to the next generation of Bengals athletes.

When asked about his favourite volunteering memory, Coach Osman couldn’t pick just one. Every practice, game, and interaction with his players is a reminder of why he loves coaching and being part of the OMFA community.

Volunteer Spotlight:
🌟 Jess Houle 🌟

Jess has been a dedicated Team Manager with OMFA for the past 2 years, supporting our U14 Flag & Tackle teams in 2025 and our current U16 Flag & Tackle programs.

What she loves most about volunteering is being part of the Bengals family and the incredible sense of community that brings players, coaches, volunteers, and families together to help athletes grow and succeed.

One of Jess’s favourite memories was winning the U14 C-Cup Championship in 2025 after the team overcame adversity and truly embodied the Bengals values of Pride, Respect, and Team. Celebrating that journey together at the C-Cup pizza party and end-of-season banquet made it a season she’ll never forget.
