MYTH vs. FACT Friday 💜

MYTH: Pregnancy and infant loss only affects moms.

FACT: Pregnancy and infant loss impacts the entire family — dads, partners, siblings, and loved ones all grieve too.

Too often, fathers and partners are expected to “stay strong” and support others, while their own pain goes unseen. Grief can show up in many ways: silence, withdrawal, anger, or busyness. Recent research shows dads and partners may suppress their emotions and need support that’s just for them.

Let’s break the silence. Every parent deserves space to grieve, heal, and be heard.

✨ Gentle reminder:
- Check in on dads and partners.
- Ask how they’re really doing.
- Make room for their grief.
- Remind them: they don’t have to carry this alone.

If you or someone you know has experienced pregnancy or infant loss, please reach out. We’re here to support you and your family 💜

Today is What Matters to You Day—a perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and connect.

In a world that rarely slows down, it’s easy to overlook the moments and people that truly shape our lives. For us, it’s the simple joys: sharing time with loved ones, feeling seen and heard, and creating space to be ourselves—free from judgment or expectation. It’s the power of kindness, the comfort of support, and the courage to show up for one another, even in the smallest ways.

What matters most isn’t always loud or obvious. Sometimes, it’s a quiet conversation, a gentle reminder to breathe, or knowing you’re not alone on your journey.

Today, our team is taking time to check in—with each other and with our community. We’re choosing to ask, to listen, and to care with intention. Curious about what matters to us? Head to our story to see some of what matters to our team.

We’d love to hear from you: What truly matters to you? Share in the comments below and let’s inspire each other to focus on what’s most important. 💙

Happy 8th Birthday, Trooper.

Today we celebrate our incredible COPE Facility Dog, Trooper, who brings comfort, connection, and calm to everyone he meets. His gentle presence and unwavering companionship make a meaningful difference every single day, and we are so grateful to have him as part of our team.

Myth vs. Fact Friday: Brain Tumour Awareness Edition

🚫 Myth: Brain tumours only affect adults.

✅ Fact: Brain tumours can impact anyone—babies, children, teens, and adults alike. While the rates of childhood brain tumour diagnosis are quite low in Canada, they are the leading cause of solid cancer death in children under 20.

Children may not always have the words to describe what they’re feeling, so it’s important to notice subtle changes: persistent headaches, vomiting, balance issues, vision changes, fatigue, or shifts in behaviour and learning. If something feels off, trust your instincts and seek medical advice. Early action can make all the difference.

If you know a family facing a childhood brain tumour diagnosis, remind them:
💜 “You’re not alone—there’s a community here to support you.”
💜 “It’s okay to ask for help and take things one day at a time.”
💜 “Your child’s strength inspires us all.”

Let’s break the stigma and raise awareness—every age matters. 💜 For more information, and brain tumour related resources, please visit https://www.braintumour.ca/
