This weekend 36 Rovers, Venturers and Scouter volunteers were shivering in Bracebridge at their planning pre-camp for a trip to Germany and Switzerland this summer. Learning by doing: "I won't forget my toque and mitts", "I'll wear layers", "I'll remember a toothbrush" — all positive outcomes!

This week was a busy one for Orillia cleanup. Our sections tackled parks, playgrounds and streets to pitch-in and get the city clean.

What a way to wrap up National Volunteer Week – 101 local Cubs, Scouts and Venturers competing in the annual Pinewood Derby. Did you know that Cub Scouts have been making derby Kub Kars for 48 years?

Without the 50 'red shirt' volunteers that also spent hours setting up tracks, planning sign-ups and supervising meals and races – this event would be impossible. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Burk's Falls, Gravenhurst Scouting, Bracebridge, 3rd Parry Sound Scouts, 4th Midland Scouting, & Orillia Scout volunteers are the soul of our organization, and we thank you.

Gravenhurst Scouting, 1st Holly, 1st and 3rd Bracebridge, 4th Midland Scouting and 1st Orillia Scout Group held their own Winter Games today - one full of records and new trials.

A great Winter Blast with Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Special thanks to the Venturer Scouts of the area who helped to run activity groups, and the volunteers and parents who supported the day.
