The Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary, non-profit association consisting of over 600 members. From this membership a board of fourteen directors is elected who meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The City of Orillia, the Townships of Ramara, Severn, and Oro-Medonte and the Rama First Nation have the opportunity to be represented by appointees to the board. To further strengthen communication links with other community groups there are also appointees on the board representing Georgian College, Lakehead University, Casino Rama, Doctor Recruitment and Retention, Community Development Corporation, Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Manufacturers’ Association, Construction Association and the Downtown Orillia Management Board. The mandate of the Chamber of Commerce is to provide both tangible and intangible benefits to our members in particular, and our community as a whole. There are numerous standing committees working with and for our membership. These committees, which include directors, members and the community at large are: Business Achievement Awards, Business After Five, Golf Tournament, Perch Festival, Governance, Santa Claus Parade and Mentoring.

Inspirational evening of connection and community impact at Georgian College! 🌟

​Last Night, Our Executive Director had the wonderful opportunity to attend "Evening with the President" at Georgian’s Barrie Campus, connecting with President and CEO Kevin Weaver, industry leaders, alumni, and community partners.
​The night featured an engaging reception followed by a thought-provoking fireside chat and panel discussion moderated by Daniel Tisch (President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce), alongside dynamic insights from Kevin Weaver and fellow panelists Eric Chassard (President and CEO of Bruce Power) and Sylvia Biffis (Director of Sales, Nottawasaga Resort & Conference Centre).

​We explored how our region is navigating change, shaping the workforce of tomorrow, and driving economic and social prosperity together. It was also an exclusive first look at Georgian's new report, From Insight to Impact, highlighting how collaboration fuels our collective future.

Kevin Weaver shared how essential the Chamber Network was in a future partnership that meant getting data from business back to post-secondary education sooner so quick change could be made to adapt and excel.
