Sunday, June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day—a special day to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and Urban Indigenous peoples across Canada.
Why June 21?
This date coincides with the summer solstice—the longest day of the year—which holds deep cultural, spiritual, and traditional significance for First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban Indigenous communities.
