Every thriving garden needs someone who helps coordinate the work, nurtures relationships, and makes sure everything is growing in the right direction.

Our Executive Director helps bring the foundation’s vision to life by working alongside the Board, volunteers, committees, donors, and community partners. She turns ideas into action, connects people and opportunities, and ensures the foundation continues to serve the community effectively.

A heartfelt thank you to Michele Fisher, our Executive Director for tending to all the moving pieces, building meaningful relationships, and helping our community garden continue to grow, bloom, and flourish.

As you can see - a healthy garden takes a village,and grows when many caring hands work together. 🌱

A Community Foundation is Like a Community Garden. 🌱

A beautiful community garden doesn't happen by chance. It takes planning, teamwork, and people who care deeply about helping it grow.

The same is true for a community foundation.

Over the next two weeks, we'll introduce the dedicated volunteers who help our foundation flourish. Each committee plays an important role in planting seeds, nurturing growth, and creating lasting impact in our community.

Today, we're starting with our Board of Directors.

Think of the Board as the garden planners. They set the vision, make important decisions, and help ensure the foundation continues to grow in ways that benefit our community for years to come.

There's something magical about walking a red carpet, especially when it's in your community and celebrates Canadian film.🤩

Shirley Boxem and Vicki Sword from our Grants Committee attended the opening night at the 3rd annual Dufferin Film Festival and reported that it was wonderful.👏

The lineup for today and tomorrow looks amazing, too, and we're excited to watch!

The DFF celebrates film in Canada and showcases the best from independent films and emerging filmmakers. Thank you Dufferin Film Festival!

In a well-planned garden, every seed matters.

Some seeds are large, some are small - but with care and time, each has the potential to grow into something meaningful.

The same is true for giving. Whether it’s a gift of $25, $250, or $25,000+, every contribution to the Dufferin Community Foundation is a seed planted for Dufferin County’s future.

Because gifts are permanently invested, they continue to grow over time. The annual earnings support charitable causes in our community today, tomorrow, and forever.

Some of our donor-advised funds have been nurturing our community for years, while others are just beginning to take root and will soon grant. Together, they create a legacy of generosity that helps our community thrive.
