✨ DAY TWO. My Heart Is Heavy, My Spirit Is Focused. ✨
As we enter Day 2 of the strike, my heart is sitting in a very reflective place.
I spent yesterday on the lines, praying, bringing donuts, listening, and watching a community that loves our kids deeply show up in the cold anyway.
What I felt most was fear, uncertainty, and exhaustion — not because people don’t care, but because they care SO much.
So first, to our teachers and staff:
💛 I see you.
💛 I honor you.
💛 I’m praying for covering, clarity, and comfort over you.
This situation is heavy, and your feelings are real.
To our students and families:
💛 I’m holding you close too.
This is disruptive, scary, confusing — and you’re trying to make it through each day the best you can.
I’m praying that God keeps your households steady and your spirits protected.
To our community:
We are in a moment that requires more than frustration… it requires wisdom, alignment, partnership, and miraculous solutions.
And I believe in miracles.
I believe in strategy.
I believe in unity.
And I believe God will make a way.
I’ve always said the City Council and the School Board should have regular, ongoing, intentional meetings — because the future of Richmond is directly connected to the future of our kids.
Where one system falls short, the other should step in.
That’s what real community does.
That’s what real leadership looks like.
And listening to everything that’s happening right now…
I’m more convinced than ever that it’s time for these conversations to happen consistently — not just in crisis.
I’m prayerful, I’m hopeful, and yes… I am quietly working behind the scenes where I can — because our youth and families deserve solutions, not silence.
I’m asking God for wisdom for everyone involved, miraculous favor for our district, and peace for every household touched by this.
We can — and will — get through this.
Together.
With strategy.
With unity.
With heart.
And with God.
