WE’RE LASER FOCUSED ON FUNDRAISING FOR FOOTHILLS CHARITIES. Part of our recent ‘reset’ plan was to analyze where we can best focus our fundraising efforts. It was determined that 100 Women Who Care Foothills should focus on serving only communities within the geographic borders defined by Foothills Country in Southern Alberta. (Not the Foothills Electoral District.) Covering approximately 3,600 square kilometres in area, this region has approximately 124,000 residents and includes those living in Okotoks, High River, Diamond Valley, Longview, and Eden Valley Reserve, as well as the hamlets of Aldersyde, Blackie, Cayley, Dewinton, Hartell, Heritage Pointe, Millarville, Naphtha, Priddis and Priddis Greens.

WE'RE ON THE MOVE! Our efforts to merge our two pages has proven to be impossible, so we have a special request of our loyal followers to, please, move with us! We recognize that some of our followers are duplicates, but we would sure hate to lose touch with any of you.

It's highly unlikely that any social media page would ask this ... but we actually want you to 'unlike' and 'unfollow' this page and join us on our original page:
100 Women Who Care Foothills

This decision was made because:

- it's too confusing (for everyone) for us to have two pages
- the name of the original page is what people type in the search bar when they want to find us
- the original page has 8 years of history
- the original page has 900+ followers.

Thank you for your cooperation, patience and understanding!
This page will become inactive on October 31, 2025.

WHO DO YA LOVE? MEMBERS... Nominate your favourite Foothills County charity for a chance to present at our Thurs., Oct. 9th AND January 8th, 2026, Charity Selection Meetings. Nominations are open NOW.

The deadline for both upcoming meetings is midnight, Sunday, Sept. 28. This gives us time to vet the nominations and choose three presenters for the October meeting. (January presenters will be selected Oct. 9.)

All nominations must be submitted through our website.

Go to womenwhocarefoothills.ca and click on the red ‘Nomination Information' tab at the top of the page.

Please note that we have introduced a new nomination process:

- Nominations will be open year 'round, however, there will be quarterly deadlines prior to each meeting to review nominations.
- Once nominated, charity names will stay in the nomination jar until they are selected to present.
- Be aware that charities that have received funding in the past 24-months are not eligible for nomination.
- To enable selected charities sufficient time to schedule their speaker and prepare presentations, charity selection for the January 8th meeting will be made at the October meeting ... so get your 2026 nominations in now. (This will be the new format going forward.)

WHAT’S OUR MISSION & PURPOSE? 100 Women Who Care Foothills is a collective of community-minded women committed to supporting local charities through pooled giving.

We’re in the process of creating detailed Terms of Reference to outline our purpose, governance structure, and responsibilities of the Leadership Team (i.e. Board of Directors). This will ensure consistency, transparency, and effectiveness in the organization’s operations as we wrap up our tenth year of giving back to our community. And we couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for our giving circle!

As part of the 100 Who Care Global Alliance of giving circles, our mission is to provide $40,000+ of unrestricted funding annually, to support charity organizations in Foothills County.

Consider becoming one of the ‘100 Who Care’ in Foothills County and help us make an even bigger impact for local charities.

Here’s a fun bit of history for you! In 2019, 100 Women Who Care Foothills was nominated in the non-profit category for the Okotoks and District Chamber of Commerce’s Business in Excellence Awards. Our founder, Karen Love, is all smiles in the photo below. And who wouldn’t be?! Although we were not the award recipient, it was pretty cool that we were nominated. Want to help us achieve more greatness in the months ahead? Consider becoming a member of 100 Women Who Care and help make a difference to charity organizations in Foothills County, Alberta!

100 Women Who Care Foothills is building a bigger Leadership Team, and we're actively recruiting people who'd like to help guide our Giving Circle into our next decade of community support.

Would you consider a position on our Board of Directors? Or maybe a more casual role, where you don’t attend Board meetings but could help with welcoming new members or be a greeter at a Charity Selection Meeting? Perhaps you’re the ultimate party planner and you could help with our 10th Anniversary celebration to be held in January 2026.

As the saying goes, ‘many hands make light work’, and we're looking to lighten the workload of the current Leadership Ladies. If you’d consider giving us a hand, we’d LOVE to hear from you. Email us at [email protected] or use the ‘Contact Us’ form on our website. Thank you!

100 Women Who Care Foothills will be hosting an important online Zoom meeting on Thursday, August 7th at 7 p.m. MST.

A Zoom link will be emailed on Wednesday, August 6th to members registered through our website. OR comment below if you would like more information.

As a giving circle collective, we want to have your ideas and input on our new Terms of Service reset plans.

We are also actively looking for people to help in a volunteer capacity on the Leadership Team as well as general event support.

For example, we could use some help greeting members and guests at our Giving Circle meetings and need a team to help plan and execute our 10th Anniversary celebration in January 2026!

If you may be interested in helping guide 100 Women Who Care Foothills into our next 10 years, please reply and let us know in advance of the August 7th meeting.

Here are some other dates for you to mark in your calendars:

- August 18 to Sept. 15 - Charity nominations open for BOTH for the October 9 and January 9th meetings. (A new nomination and charity selection process is being introduced.)
- Sept. 11 (online): Member engagement and recruitment event. '10 Years in Review — An introduction to 100 Women Who Care Foothills' (History, achievements, reset plans, Q&A).
- Oct. 9: Charity Selection Meeting (Online and in-person at Okotoks Library).
- Jan. 8, 2026: Official 10th Anniversary celebration and Charity Selection Meeting. Location TBD.

We look forward to your continued support as we move 100 Women Who Care - Foothills into the next decade of its mission ... to make a difference for charities in Foothills County and the many causes that they support.

We are pleased to announce that 100 Women Who Care Foothills is now a ‘verified giving circle’ with the 100 Who Care Alliance. While this is a USA-based group, rest assured that we are NOT sharing any of your personal information with them. We simply report the name of our recipient charities, plus the dates and dollar amounts of our quarterly donations. All Alliance giving circles (like us!) are free to operate as they see fit, as the Alliance believes in the grassroots nature of giving circles and that they know what’s best for their respective communities. (And we couldn’t agree more.)

Did you know that there are 700+ 100 Who Care giving circles making an impact around the world? This includes chapters for women, men, people, teens and businesses.

For 100 Women Who Care Foothills, the benefits of the Alliance include:

- ability to connect with other 100 Who Care chapters around the world
- share best practices and exchange ideas via their Facebook forum
- a wealth of free resources on their website
- chapter listing to ensure that people can learn about us
- an added level of credibility and integrity
- it's free!

The Alliance concept was formed to be simple, impactful and powerful. And we, at 100 Women Foothills, are proud to be a part of it!
