Backpacks. Community. Hope.

There’s something special about seeing backpacks lined up and ready to head into the hands of local students. 💙 Every backpack represents a child who will walk into the new school year feeling prepared, supported, and seen.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us to pack backpacks yesterday! Your time and care are helping make a meaningful difference for families across the Foothills.

🎒 Packing continues today from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at our warehouse, and we’d love to have you join us. No experience needed—just willing hands and a heart to serve!

📚 Backpack distribution takes place Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. We’re still looking for volunteers to help welcome families and make the experience a positive one for every child.

Stuff the Bus Week 🚌🎒

It’s officially Stuff the Bus Week, and there are a few important dates to remember!

📅 Registration closes TODAY (Monday, August 17)!
If you know a family who could benefit from receiving school supplies, today is the final day to register. Don’t wait!

🎒 Backpack Packing
Join us Tuesday & Wednesday from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at the warehouse as we pack backpacks with supplies for local students. Many hands make light work, and we’d love to have you join us!

💙 Backpack Distribution
Backpack pick-up takes place Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Registered families will receive an email with a sign-up link to book their pick-up time.

Whether you can give a few hours packing backpacks or help during distribution, your time makes a real difference for local students heading back to school with confidence.

A heartfelt thank you to the Foothills Ladies Compassion Cup for the incredible generosity you showed to MyCityCare as the Mulligan recipient this year. 💕⛳️

Because of your generosity, students in our community will head back to school with backpacks and school supplies, and we have a wonderful head start on our Shop of Wonders Christmas program.

Your kindness is making a real difference for local families and children, and we are so grateful for the compassion and generosity you continue to show our community.

✨ What’s Up Wednesday ✨

Here’s what’s happening at MyCityCare Foothills this week:

👕 The Clothing Store is open TONIGHT (and next Wednesday) from 4–8 PM! Shopping is by appointment to help us serve every family well. It’s also a great evening to volunteer or drop off clothing donations directly to us (drop off only available on Wednesdays from 4-8)

🚌 Stuff the Bus registrations close in just 12 days! More than 350 students are already registered. Know someone who could benefit? Send them this post so they don’t miss the deadline.

💙 We’re still looking for support! Volunteer, donate school supplies, or help spread the word—every act of generosity helps local students start the school year with confidence.

Every backpack tells a story.

Over the next few weeks, hundreds of backpacks will be filled with school supplies and distributed to students in our community. What may seem like a simple backpack can help a child walk into their classroom feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

The best part? There’s a place for everyone to be part of this.

Whether you’re an individual, a family, a business, or a community group, here are a few ways you can help (all links are in our Linktree):

🎒 Out running errands? Pick up a few extra school supplies and drop them off at Foothills Cleaners (Okotoks), McMan Family Services, or Staples (starting this week).

📦 Short on time? Shop our Amazon Wishlist, and your donation will be delivered directly to our team.

🖍️ Looking for a hands-on way to give back? Sign up to help pack backpacks. All ages are welcome, making it a great opportunity for families, friends, teams, and community groups.

💙 Want to meet families and make a direct impact? Join us for Backpack Distribution and help share encouragement as students receive everything they need for the school year.

💛 Prefer to give financially? Your donation helps cover the costs that make this program possible—from packing supplies to transportation and everything in between.
