It Takes a Village Okotoks Community Foundation Mission: To help Foothills families facing hardships, with free essential baby supplies in the first year of their baby's life. at this time.

Items we require for baby boxes:
-baby clothes (0-12 months)
-baby blankets
-receiving blankets
-diapers
-wipes
-baby towels
-sleep sacks
-car seat cozies
-infant toys and books
-crib sheets
-diaper bags
-infant carriers
-diaper change pads
-large rubbermaid bins or large diaper boxes

If you have new/unopened baby products such as nursing pads, baby shampoo, nasal spray, we accept those too. Due to space limitations, we unfortunately cannot accept larger items such as cribs, playpens, playmats, etc. If you know of anyone that might be able to help out with donating a storage space for the larger items, please let us know.

A huge thank you to Adanac Liquidation Adanac Liquidation for continually supporting It Takes a Village and for generously sponsoring our garbage dumpster.

We are incredibly fortunate to receive so many wonderful donations. Unfortunately, some items arrive damaged, badly stained, or simply not safe to pass along and must be disposed of.

By covering this ongoing expense, Adanac Liquidation helps us put more of our funds where they are needed most — purchasing essentials like diapers and other urgently needed baby items for local families.

For the past 2½ years, volunteers from FAIM – Foothills Advocacy In Motion Society - FAIM have generously volunteered their time at It Takes a Village, helping us sort and organize donations for our Baby Boxes.

FAIM creates opportunities for individuals to build confidence, independence, workplace skills and a sense of belonging through meaningful volunteer and employment experiences.

We are so deeply overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and generosity for our donation drive. Seeing our community show up in such a big way to support local families means more than words can say.

Babies may be tiny, but their toiletries list is HUGE!

It takes a village to keep those little humans clean, moisturized, and protected! We’re asking our amazing community to help us stock up on baby care essentials such as baby shampoo, lotion, diaper cream, body wash, wipes, and other everyday must-haves.

Whether you can donate one item or a whole basket, every little bit helps a growing family.

Let’s show our newest little villagers some love—and help their parents keep the diaper bag fully loaded!

Diaper need is real, and essentials like these go directly to supporting local families right here in the Foothills when they need a little extra grace. Every single box, sleeve, and package makes an immediate difference, even if the package is opened.

BABY BOX PROGRAM

Since 2015, our community has come together to provide 535 Baby Boxes to families throughout the Foothills region.

Each box holds approximately 180 essential items to help a baby from birth through their first year—diapers, clothing, blankets, and so much more. But these boxes are about more than the items inside. They are a reminder to families that they are not alone.

Baby Boxes are provided at no cost to families who may be facing circumstances that make it difficult to purchase the essentials their baby needs. Every box is thoughtfully prepared with new and gently used donated items, with care, dignity, and love.

535 Baby Boxes—and 535 reminders that our community cares.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, and community member who helps make this program possible. It truly takes a village.
