What a weekend for the Okotoks FireFit Team!

The team put together some outstanding performances, with every member qualifying for Nationals in New Brunswick this September!
🏅 Gold Medal – Women’s Relay, Lisa, Davada, Georgina and Amanda
🥈 2nd Place Female Individual – Georgina
🥉 Bronze Medal – Women’s Tech 2 – Amanda & Georgina

The team also celebrated personal best performances from two of our team members, a testament to the hard work and dedication everyone has put in this season!

Congratulations to Nicole and Ryan on an incredible day at the wellspring stair climb!
Competing alongside more than 500 stair climbers, Nicole finished as the top female, while Ryan proudly represented the Okotoks Fire Department for his 12th consecutive year.
Together, they raised over $2,000 for cancer research and a great cause.

Firefighters, registration for the 2026 Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge opens tomorrow! Join hundreds of firefighters from across North America as we take on 1,370 steps for something bigger than ourselves.

Funds raised go to Wellspring Alberta, providing free cancer support for firefighters and families across the province.

Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters of Redwood Meadows Emergency Services. Last night's fire damaged their hall, apparatus and equipment.

This kind of loss is difficult as it affects more than just one family, it affects a community.

Today, we pause to honour and remember the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

On this day of reflection, Okotoks Local 4829 extends heartfelt gratitude to all veterans—and especially to our own brothers, Neal, Travis, and Scott, for their service to Canada before continuing their commitment to protecting our community as members of the Okotoks Fire Department.
