I'm an Optimist because I believe that when we invest in youth, we shape the future of our community. I find joy in seeing young people grow through service, learning empathy and respect, and discovering the power they have to create positive change. 🍋Anyone remember Okotoks Lemonade Day? Well it is back for 2026 thanks to the Okotoks Optimist Club! Lemonade Day is a youth entrepreneurship program that teaches kids how to start and run their own small “business” (a lemonade stand!), build confidence, and learn the power of giving back. There are lots of ways to get involved with this incredible program. Reach out to the Okotoks Optimist Club, comment below and follow Lemonade Day Okotoks for more information.

The Okotoks Optimist Club is proud to host an Essay Writing Contest for local youth — a chance to share your voice, reflect on service, and win prizes!

📝 Essay Topic:
“How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me”

👥 Eligibility: Youth under 19 as of October 1, 2026
📄 Length: 700–800 words

🌟 A HUGE Thank You to Pamela & Steve from Baby It’s Cold Outside! ❄️💙

What an incredible night with our Junior Optimists! Pamela and Steve were the perfect special guest speakers — inspiring our kids with the message that support can be given freely and that even the smallest acts of kindness can create a chain of promises that leads to a better world and a stronger, more connected community. 🤝✨

We’re also proud to share that the Okotoks Optimist Club presented a $2,000 donation to help BICO with their Christmas shopping initiatives for individuals and families in need. 🎄💛 This contribution will help make the season brighter for so many.

Our Junior Optimists will:
🕹 Hang out and have fun at the arcade
🧣 Hear from a special guest speaker from Baby It’s Cold Outside and learn how they help people in our community

🎉 You’re Invited! Junior Optimist October Meeting & Social 🎉

Join us Friday, October 17th from 6–8 PM at in Okotoks for a fun and meaningful evening! 💛

We’ll be welcoming a special guest speaker from the Sheep River Health Trust 🩵 who will share how they support local families — and how our Juniors can help make a difference!

Then we’ll roll up our sleeves for a Christmas Ornament Craft 🎄✨ to decorate the tree our Optimist Club is donating to the Avenue of Trees this November.

It’s a great chance for kids to connect, create, and give back to our community — and parents are always welcome to stay and join the fun!

💫 Everyone ages 5–12 is welcome to come see what being a Junior Optimist is all about!
