The National Survey Investigating Hallucinogenic Trends (NSIHT) is an ongoing national surveillance study owned and operated by Rocky Mountain Poison & Drug Safety (RMPDS), a division of Denver Health and Hospital Authority.
Launched initially in 2024, it uses an enriched online sampling strategy calibrated with general-population data to provide detailed, nationally representative insights into psychedelic, hallucinogenic, and dissociative substance use among adults (ages 18+) in the United States.
The primary objective of the survey is to understand real-world behaviors, contexts, benefits, risks, and emerging trends that traditional general-population surveys struggle to capture due to the relatively low prevalence of psychedelic use.
