2026 was incredible… but look what’s coming next. 👀🌒☀️

On August 2, 2027, another total solar eclipse will sweep across southern Spain and North Africa, with totality reaching places including Cádiz, Málaga and Gibraltar.

After experiencing totality together in Spain this summer, it’s pretty exciting to already be looking ahead to the next one.

We learned so much from the 2026 Fin Whale Eclipse Project.

So yes… we’re not done yet. 🐋🌊

Time to start thinking about 2027.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported The Fin Whale Eclipse Project in 2026!

We were so lucky to be able to travel to Spain together and experience the total solar eclipse in Mallorca — something we’ll never forget.

Thank you to everyone who followed along, shared our story, supported , bought eclipse glasses, and helped us connect the eclipse with the incredible fin whales of the North Atlantic.

And stay tuned… we’re not done yet! 🌒🐋

Whales are among the most remarkable creatures on our planet, and their survival depends on healthy oceans and the choices we make to protect them.

I am pleased to support ORCA and The Fin Whale Eclipse Project, a Canadian youth-led initiative connecting the total solar eclipse of August 12, 2026, with greater awareness of the whales and dolphins that travel through the waters of the North Atlantic.

As millions of people prepare to look up at the eclipse, this project is also encouraging us to look toward the ocean—and to consider what we can do to protect the extraordinary wildlife that lives there.

This image is one of my killer whale paintings. Although the project is inspired by the journey of the fin whale, its message extends to all whales and dolphins, and to the marine environments they depend upon.

We started this project hoping the eclipse could encourage people not only to look up, but also to look toward the ocean and think about the whales and dolphins that depend on it. Having your support, alongside ORCA, makes us feel incredibly proud and gives our message a much bigger voice.
