June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada!

This is an opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Mรฉtis. It's a time to honour the stories, achievements and resilience of Indigenous Peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to impact the evolving Canada.

A dedicated Indigenous Gathering Space is coming soon to Oakville in the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre! ๐Ÿ’™

The space realizes the original request from Oakvilleโ€™s Indigenous Community to create an Indigenous Knowledge Centre, documented in the Oakville Community Foundationโ€™s 2019 25 Community Conversations report.

Weโ€™re grateful for all of the donors to the space and for the following in-kind support: Canadian Tire - Oakville North, ON, IKEA, Oakville Kitchen And Bath Centre, Oakville Paint & Decor Centre - Benjamin Moore, Promation and Speers Road Broadloom Ltd.
