On this sacred occasion of Guru Purnima, we bow in reverence to all the Gurus — the guiding lights who illuminate our path, dispel ignorance, and help us discover our highest self.

In Hindu culture, the Guru is revered as Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh — the creator, sustainer, and transformer. The Guru is not just a teacher, but a spiritual beacon whose wisdom shapes our character, purpose, and dharma. Our scriptures proclaim:

“Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara
Guru Sakshat Param Brahma, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namah”

At Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), while we learn from many mentors and teachers in life, we collectively bow to the Bhagwa Dhwaj (saffron flag) as our eternal Guru. It symbolizes the timeless values of sacrifice, service, discipline, and spiritual strength that guide us in our mission of self-development and service to society. The Bhagwa Dhwaj stands tall — unwavering, impartial, and ever-inspiring — teaching us by its very presence.

Let us take this day to offer our gratitude to all those who have shaped our minds and spirits. May we continue to walk the path of Dharma with humility, courage, and clarity.

Wishing you and your family a blessed and enlightening Guru Purnima!

HSS Parivar ki taraf se Hanuman Jayanti ki hardik shubhkamnaye!

Every year, Hindus celebrate Hanuman Jayanti, a festival honoring the birth of Lord Hanuman. Revered for his unwavering devotion to Lord Rama, Hanuman, embodies strength and selflessness. Also known as Pavan Putra Hanuman, Bajrangabali, and Maruti Nandan, Lord Hanuman symbolizes strength, devotion, and selfless service.

This year, the auspicious Hindu festival of Hanuman Jayanti is on April 23. It falls on the full moon day (Purnima Tithi) of Shukla Paksha during the Chaitra month. Hindu devotees seek Lord Hanuman's blessings on this day and worship him. The festival commemorates his birth anniversary. People visit temples on this day, pray to Lord Hanuman, give food to the needy, perform Sunder Kaand Paath, attend kirtans, recite bhajans, and more.

Devotees mark this occasion with prayers, fasting, and reciting the Hanuman Chalisa, seeking inner peace, prosperity, and strength from Lord Hanuman.

Today's park cleaning effort was truly remarkable! Despite the chilly weather, our dedicated volunteers persevered without skipping a beat. After two hours of hard work, we all felt incredibly satisfied and joyful. Not even the cold could dampen our spirits! We collected various items, from tires with rims to an espresso coffee machine, baseballs, and flying discs, alongside the typical litter like bottles, coffee cups, chocolate wrappers, and numerous cigarette butts. It was a testament to the commitment and passion of our volunteers, and together, we made a significant impact on the cleanliness of our park.
